Summer School in Indian Philosophy
July 13—July 17, 2015
The summer school is an introductory course for understanding philosophical themes
and debates in Indian philosophy. In this course participants will not only enrich their
conceptual understanding of Indian philosophy through a series of lectures, workshop
presentations and activities but will also engage with parts of original Indian philosophical texts through writing, discussions and reflection. Sessions by eminent philosophers
will be related to five major themes:
1.

Logic and rationality

2.

Nature of reality

3.

Language and hermeneutics

4.

Aesthetics and art

5.

Indian Philosophy and contemporary society

Who can apply?
We invite applications from students, research scholars, faculty members, and others
who are interested in Indian Philosophy.
How to apply?
Send a CV (with email, phone, and contact address details) along with a statement on
why you want to attend this course. The last date for submission of applications is June
15, 2015. Selected candidates will be intimated via email by June 20, 2015. Selected participants can be provided accommodation at Manipal University on request.
There is no course fee.
