Keeping Up with the Joneses

”Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.

They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.”

1 Corinthians 9:25

Dear Family & Friends,
The Olympics is a showcase of the “best of the best” in athletics. We applaud, appreciate, and admire the
dedication and discipline of all the competitors, and rejoice with the victors. Yet, Paul compares the dedication
and discipline of servants of the Lord to be just as passionate but of far greater value. No wonder we view Paul as
one of the greatest missionaries of all time. What about us?

EXCITING NEWS: Work has officially begun on the
Prattville Drive-In property. The overall grading
for the elevations of the pavilions, soccer field,
loop road, etc. is underway. Next week we hope to
be preparing the pavilion pads for concrete slabs.
Thank you for your faithfulness in praying for
this; it is a new beginning after five years of
waiting. The activity is already stirring interest
in the area with many people commenting to me
that they are glad to see us finally getting started.
I didn’t realize so many were paying attention for
so long. God has been at work all along. I’ll have
more updates and pictures next month.

God is with us… in giving us a new daughter-in-law in November!
In July, Samuel proposed to Kailey Goodwin, from Columbiana,
Alabama. They met at the church Samuel had been going to while in
college, and where he is currently the children’s pastor intern. We
are very happy for them. We look forward to three birthdays in
August: Mike, and grandchildren Kevin(10) & Eliena(3). Please
continue to pray for Jennifer and the decisions she needs to make
concerning her ongoing back pain, for which she is currently
receiving injections. Joseph began his Senior year at East Memorial
Christian Academy on Aug. 5. He is playing football and has big
goals. We are having fun with many “last” firsts. It is pretty
emotional for me as his mom realizing this is the LAST year we will
have a child in school after 30 consecutive years! AMJ

It has been a very busy summer…and very hot in central
Alabama. But God has been faithful in Mobile meetings, office
work, trips, preaching, hosting guests, working on the property,
etc. We count it a privilege to serve the Lord in many capacities.

Thank you for your faithfulness in this marathon ministry partnership. Your prayers and gifts both support and
encourage us to keep at it. May our dedication together result in many souls saved and crowns earned that we can
present to Christ someday.
In His service together, Mike & AnnaMae and family
