Vinashin Petroleum Investment & Transport Joint Stock Company

Viet Gas 2 - External Hull

Euronavy Intemational herewith guarantees to Vinashin Petroleum Investment & Transport Joint
Stock Company the Satisfactory Performance of its Coating System applied onboard VietGas 2, at
Bason Shipyard, February 2007, during the Warranty Period and within the Warranty Scope
limits.

THIS GUARANTEE IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS, CONDITIONS


AND DEFINITIONS:
I.

"Warranty Period": the sixty (60) months period commencing upon completion of the Coating
System application, as stated in the attached PAINTING REPORT.

2. "Warranty Scope": this warranty only covers the areas where the full Euronavy Coating System as
described below was applied over bare metal surfaces treated as per Euronavy's specification and
approved by an Euronavy Inspector, as stated in the Attached PAINTING REPORT. Ali areas where
the Coating System was applied over previously existing coatings, non-approved surfaces or later
damaged areas are not covered by the Scope of this Warranty. Failures of the coating system due to
mechanical damage, weIding, abrasion, acts of God or acts of War or to the exposure of the protected
areas to conditions different from the originally stated by Vinashin Petroleum Investment & Transport
Joint Stock Company are not covered by this Warranty.
3. "Coating System": refers to the application of enclosed coating schemes, over bare metal treated with
wet blasting and according to enclosed reporto
4. "Satisfactory Perfonnance" will be found ifthe Coating System is free ofactive corrosion ofthe steel
substrate solely and directIy attributable to a breakdown of the coating film, during the Warranty
Period, in excess ofthe following:

1% of the total area after the first 12 months period.

2% of the total area after the second 12 months period.

3% ofthe total area after the second 12 months period.

4% ofthe total area after the second 12 months period.

5% ofthe total area at the end ofthe Warranty Period.

Euronavy Intemational sole and total Iiability under this Warranty shall be to supply the
necessary coating materiais for the repair of the coating system areas not achieving the Satisfactory
Performance as above defined.

6.

Repair work must be undertaken with Euronavy coatings as quoted in the original coating
specification or as recommended by the Euronavy Intemational technical dept. The repair work must
be undertaken and completed under the supervision of a technical representative fTom Euronavy.
Euronavy lntemational reserves the right at its sole discretion to undertake the necessary warranty
repair with its own staff.

7.

This Warranty will be govemed under the laws of Portugal.
