The Peoples Family Adoption Journey

Ethiopia has been an independent state since ancient times, being one of the oldest countries in the world. Ethiopia was the original source of the coffee bean, and coffee beans are the country's largest export commodity. Ethiopia has eighty-four indigenous languages.

Why Adopt?

Here are the answers to questions you may have: • What country are you adopting from? Ethiopia

“If 7% of professing Christians would adopt, there would be no orphans. All 150 million of them worldwide would have a home.” -Tom Davis of Children's Hopechest Lee and Sandra talked before they were married about their future children. Even then they both shared a burden to care for orphans. God has blessed them with two biological children (David and James) and they feel now is the time to add another member to their family! Their mission is to bring him home. There’s a little boy in Ethiopia who needs a forever family. God has chosen him to be part of our family, just as we became members of God's family through adoption. We didn't deserve it; we couldn't earn it. But through His grace, we became His children.

What age are you requesting? A son who will be older than one year old, but 10 months younger than our youngest son (who will be 3 in Sept.) How long will the process take?
Because of the gender and age we are requesting, the process will probably take less than a year.

How can I help? • Pray! Pray for us, our agency, our fundraising efforts, our son, and the orphanage currently caring for him. • Visit our blog for the latest fundraising projects– peoplesonline.blogspot.com • Contact us for fundraisers you can do in your area on our behalf. This includes yard sales, bake sales, and fundraising nights at local restaurants. Give directly to us. You can use the secure PayPal connection on our website, or make checks payable to Lee or Sandra Peoples with “adoption fund” in the memo line.

What is the total costs? Approximately $30,000 (including two trips to Ethiopia) •

How do you plan to raise the funds? First, by lifting up our
needs to God in prayer. Sandra will begin substitute teaching in the fall. We will also have fundraisers such as a yard sale, an auction on our website, and the financial support of our family, church family, and friends.

How quickly do you need the money? We are currently raising
$15,000 for the first round of fees. It is due in August. The time table after that partially depends on our fundraising success.
