A quick overview of the SAP Jam integration capabilities

In this demo we are going to very quickly show 2 integration capabilities of SAP Jam.
 Calling the SAP Jam OData API
 Jam consuming an OData feed from a HANA Cloud Platform application

System prerequisites
 An SAP HANA Cloud Platform Account trial account

 HCP openSAP learners.

2 . This takes you to your new SAP Jam Developer Edition company. Switch to your cockpit for your trial account on SAP HANA Cloud Platform go to the Services page. In this short demo we will demonstrate the steps required to call the Jam OData API to do some quick POC tests right from within the SAP Jam API documentation. Click Create OAuth2 Access Token. fill out the form with a name and a URL starting with http/https. Inside Jam click on the cog icon at the top right of the screen and select Admin from the drop down. and copy the token 3 . and hit save. Click the Add OAuth Client link. From the menu on the left hand side of the page select Integrations. and then select OAuth Clients. 3. Once the new client is created click on the View link to see the details of the new client.

6. The content and name of the group is not important. Click on the OData API Reference menu on the top right. and then [GET] /Groups. Click on the TRY button. This returns the OData meta data of the SAP Jam OData API. Go back to the API documentation page and select Group. 4 . Paste the token from the OAuth Client into the OAUTH TOKEN text box on the top left of the page. 5. Go to the SAP Jam Developer Documentation. On the right hand side of the page scroll down until you see the first TRY button and click it. This should return the OData API for the group that you just created. This interactive documentation allows you to show the depth and breadth of the SAP Jam API without very much work or technical setup. This is a description of the service.

In the Name text box. Leave the User Name and Password fields blank. In this example we will connect Jam to the ESPM web shop reference application on HANA Cloud Platform. Record types in SAP Jam define how the data from the external application will be displayed within SAP Jam. 5 .

 An OData API that can be called by any HCP application.
