John 7:37 reminds us that Christ is our constant source of

spiritual refreshment. Ask Christ to refresh you spiritually
today. This may be by trusting Him to forgive confessed
sin. He may refresh you by giving you confidence to trust
Him in an act of obedience. He may refresh you in many
other ways. Ask Him to be your source of satisfaction

Jesus great plan for his life and ministry was to invest
in twelve men, then tell them to go make disciples too.
Those men went out and made disciples who made
disciples. Jesus came to earth and made disciples (like
Paul) who want to make disciples (like Timothy) who
make disciples (faithful men) who make disciples (others
also). This is of primary significance in the Christian life.
A Christian is a disciple of Christ, and disciples of Christ
have one primary task on earth: make disciples. Many
who claim the name of Christ have yet to claim the task
that Christ has given to his followers. Every believer in
Jesus must increase his or her focus on making disciples
with all of their time, energy, resources, and life. This is
the task we have been left on earth to accomplish.

John 7:38 (from Sundays text) indicates that we, by the Holy
Spirit, can be a blessing to others. Ask the Lord to use you as
a source of spiritual encouragement to somebody that needs
it today.

We want God to grow us with fireworks and flashing lights.

Too often we are waiting for the big wonders and the fancy displays of supernatural power. But God uses ordinary
means. Just plain and simple things like reading the Bible,
praying, and spending time in relationships with other
believers are the most basic means by which God accomplishes extraordinary things. Slowly, little by little, we are
changed by His Word. We are encouraged and challenged
by his people. We are humbled in prayer. We are made
more like Christ from one degree of glory to another.
Though we may wish for great leaps of spiritual growth,
God prefers the ordinary means of slow and faithful plodding.
