Class Description
Academic Intervention Math (AIM) is a course designed for
special education students to assist them with developing the
skills the will help them be successful in future math courses.
This course will provide individualized instruction to ensure your
student has a strong understanding of math concepts.
We will be working toward a daily learning target through use of
hands on activities, notes, vocabulary, and class discussion.
Students will be tracking their growth throughout the semester.
Students will receive an elective credit toward their graduation
requirements upon passing the course.
Class Expectations

Follow all classroom and school rules and policies

Be an active participant in your education

Wait in your seat to be dismissed by the teacher
Missing Work:
In accordance with the Olivet Student Handbook:
Students with an excused absence will be allowed to make up
all work missed at full credit. Previous homework assignments
will be due on the day of return to school, missed assignments
will be due on the following day, and a missed test/quiz will be
made up on the return day, if in school the day prior to the test
or quiz.
Students will be allowed time equal to the time missed to make
up the work; all make-up work will be done at the teachers
convenience.
If a student has an unexcused absence, they will only receive
half credit for assignments or tests/quizzes missed during their
absence.
Failure to make up work missed because of an absence will result
in 0 for the work they missed. A truant student will receive no
credit in the class for the day they were truant.

If a student misses a day, there will be folders in the classroom


with the previous days work. It is the responsibility of the
student to get the notes they missed from a classmate.
Students should first communicate with their classmates about
missing work. They should also check our class website for
assignments and notes.

Technology:
Students are not allowed to use their cell phones in class.
