U.S. AMBASSADOR DAN MOZENA CONGRATULATES THE
NEW FOREIGN SECRETARY
JANUARY 12, DHAKA Following is a statement by U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh
Dan Mozena.

On behalf of the U.S. Embassy and the U.S. Government, I congratulate Mr. Shahidul
Haque on assuming duties as the new Foreign Secretary and convey our best wishes to him for a
successful tenure. I draw attention to the Foreign Secretarys illustrious career to date with the
Government of Bangladesh and with international organizations. I am confident he will have an
equally distinguished term in promoting Bangladeshs foreign policy interests as Foreign
Secretary. I look forward to working with the Foreign Secretary to broaden, deepen, and
strengthen the multi-faceted U.S.-Bangladesh partnership so we can realize its unlimited
potential and take the partnership to new heights.
