AND BOD. THE RESULTS SHALL BE SUBMITTED SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE
DESIGNER PRIOR TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF PILE CAP AND SUPERSTRUCTURE.
HIGH-STRAIN DYNAMIC TEST SHALL BE DONE SUCH THAT THE REQUIRED ULTIMATE
BEARING CAPACITY IS MOBILIZED AND/OR THE MAXIMUM PERMANENT PILE SET OF
D/120 IS REACHED. HAMMER WEIGHT OF ABOUT 1.5 TO 2.0% OF THE REQUIRED

STRUCTURE SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO THE STARTS OF ANY
CONSTRUCTION WORKS.

THE BOTTOM OF PILES SHALL BE EMBEDDED AT LEAST (3) TIMES DIAMETER (3D) INTO
THE HARD STRATA WITH AN N-VALUE OF AT LEAST 40 CAPABLE OF DEVELOPING THE
REQUIRED ULTIMATE BEARING CAPACITY. IF THE ABOVE CONDITION CANNOT BE MET

DRAWINGS INDICATING THE BENDING, CUTTING, SPLICING AND INSTALLATION

4. NOTES ON BORED PILES:


BORED PILES SHALL BE 1200MM IN DIAMETER FOR ABUTMENTS AND 1800MM FOR
PIERS. AN ON SITE SUB-SURFACE INVESTIGATION SHALL ALSO BE TAKEN DURING
CONSTRUCTION FOR VERIFICATION OF SOIL. DATA USED IN THE DESIGN WAS BASED
ON THE SUB-SURFACE SOIL INVESTIGATION REPORT UNDERTAKEN BY CONCRETE
FOR BORED PILE SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM 28 CYLINDER COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH
Fc= 28 MPa. REBARS SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM DESIGNATION A615/AASHTO M31
WITH A YIELD STRENGTH Fy= 414 MPa.

3. SHOP FABRICATION DRAWINGS:


THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT THREE SETS OF FABRICATION DRAWINGS WITH
DESIGN ANALYSIS OF AASHTO GIRDER TO DPWH REGION IV-A FOR APPROVAL. NO
ACTUAL FABRICATION SHALL BE MADE PRIOR TO THE APPROVAL OF THE SHOP
DRAWINGS AND DESIGN ANALYSIS.

UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED THE FOLLOWING ARE THE MINIMUM COVER

FOR CONCRETE DEPOSITED AGAINST THE GROUND, LEAN CONCRETE WITH A


MINIMUM THICKNESS OF 50mm SHALL BE LAID FIRST BEFORE INSTALLING THE
REINFORCEMENT. THIS LEAN CONCRETE SHALL NOT BE CONSIDERED IN
MEASURING THE STRUCTURAL DEPTH OF CONCRETE SECTION.
(4) THE CONCTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT TO THE ENGINEER FOR APPROVAL PLACING
SEQUENCES FOR ALL CONCRETE WORK.
