UNU-INRA Visiting Scholars Programme for African Women

Applications are invited for UNU-INRA Visiting Scholarships to undertake a three-year project
entitled Unleashing the Potential of African Rural Economies through Green Growth. Under
the project, up to ten visiting scholars will be selected each year. These scholarships for African
women are offered for 3-4 months. The application deadline is 30 April 2015 for the academic
year 20152016.
INSEAD Alumni Fund (IAF) Diversity MBA Class Reunion Scholarships in Africa
INSEAD is organizing MBA Class Reunion Scholarships for talented young men and women
from emerging/developing countries. Several Class Reunion Scholarships of 5,000 to
15,000 are awarded to candidates who meet the criteria suggested by each class. In most cases,
preference is given to candidates residing in a developing country and/or who can justify
difficulty in raising sufficient funds for their studies. The application deadline is 2 March 2015.
Cranfield MBA Scholarship for African Women
Cranfield School of Management is offering Cranfield scholarship for African Women applicants
in the UK. Scholarship covers up to 14,000 towards the tuition fees. Scholarship is awarded on
the basis of evidence of career progression, senior management potential and interpersonal and
team-working skills. GMAT and English language proficiency is required. Application deadlines
are 30 January 2015, 24 April 2015 and 26 June 2015.
Robin Wright Graduate Fellowship for African Students
The Robin Wright Graduate Fellowship supports research by a graduate student from the Islamic
World or Africa enrolled in the Rackham Graduate School up to $4,000. Particular attention will
be given to research abroad. Preference will be given to graduate students pursuing research in
international and global issues in the contemporary period. Applications deadline is February 2,
2015.
The Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship
Applications are invited for Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarships in the field of Computer
Science, Computer Engineering or majoring in a closely related technical field. The scholarships
are available for pursuing bachelors, masters or PhD program. Scholarship can be taken at
Europe, the Middle East or Africa. To be eligible to apply, applicants must be a female student
currently enrolled at a university for the 2014-2015 academic year. Google Anita Borg
Scholarship recipients will each receive a 7,000 (or equivalent) award. The application
deadline is February 2nd, 2015.
Lila Fahlman Scholarships for African Women
Scholarships for African women are available for pursuing full-time undergraduate or graduate
degree or certificate programs at a Canadian college or university. Two scholarships of $1000
will be awarded. Applicants must be making a recognized positive contribution to society
through civic engagement and/or volunteering experience. New applications will open on
January 31 of every year.

Graa Machel Scholarships for Women


Canon Collins Educational and Legal Assistance Trust has announced Graca Machel
Scholarships for African Women. Scholarships cover full tuition, stipend, mentoring and other
support for Honours, masters and PhD study at South African universities. Applicants must apply
to their chosen universities separately and awards are conditional on the applicant being offered a
place at the relevant university. The application process will open in mid 2015.
US/Canada Grants
Applications are invited for MMMF grants available for women applicants of developing
countries to pursue their degree in the USA and Canada.Grant is awarded to study any courses
offered by the U.S. or Canadian educational institution. Grant is available towards the
completion of the degree program in Canada and USA. An MMMF grant covers only a portion
of the total costs for an academic year. An MMMF grant is awarded for an academic year.
The application deadline is January 15, 2015.
SAWISE Scholarships for African Women 2015
The Association of South African Women in Science and Engineering (SAWISE) and the Hope
Network is inviting applications for females which is available only for 4th year [e.g. BSc
(Honours) or equivalent] of study at tertiary level. SAWISE Angus Scholarship is available for
a sub-Saharan black female whereas SAWISE Hope Scholarship is available for South African
female student. Two SAWISE scholarships are available for the students. The Value of the award
is R10 000 p.a. for one year. The application deadline is 30 November annually.
Campbell Fellowship for Transformative Research on Women in the Developing World
Vera R. Campbell Foundation annually funds fellowship for women postdoctoral social scientist
from developing countries. One nine-month fellowship is awarded for a project which
addresses womens economic and social empowerment in the applicants home country. In
addition to a $4,500/month stipend and housing and office space on the SAR campus is provided
to women. The application deadline is November 1 each year.
Margaret Bennett Scholarship
London School of Economics and Political Science is offering Margaret Bennett scholarship for
female students from Africa. Scholarship is available for pursuing masters (LLM) degree level at
London School of Economics and Political Science. The scholarship has a value of up to
5,000. Successful applicants will be notified by the end of July 2014. The application deadline
is 28 April each year.
Dorothy Marchus Senesh Fellowship for Women in USA, 2015
International Peace Research Association Foundation offers graduate fellowships for South
African Women in the USA. Fellowships are provided in the field of Peace and Development
Studies. The Dorothy Senesh Fellowship is available to women from developing countries, who
have been accepted into a graduate program and whose graduate work is to be focused on issues
related to the goals of IPRA. The foundation will award two fellowships $5,000. The application
deadline is 15th January, each year.

2015 WAAW Foundation Scholarship


Applications are invited for WAAW Foundation Scholarships available for womens of
developing countries. The scholarship is awarded for STEM-focused college education in Africa.
This scholarship is available for pursuing undergraduate degree level. Scholarship recipients
receive an award of $500 for the 2015 academic year or the equivalent in their countrys local
currency.Applications will close 31 October, 2014.
African Union Scholarship for Female Students
Scholarships for African women are awarded to pursue postgraduate level for masters and PhD
programmes at African Universities. The master programs are of two years duration; while the
PhD programme are of three years duration. Applicants must have demonstrated outstanding
academic achievement as evidenced by academic transcripts, and academic awards if any.
Applicants can apply for this scholarship till 31st May 2014.
LUISS Business School MBA Scholarships for African Women
Scholarships for African women are available for pursuing master degree at LUISS Business
School of Rome. Two MBA scholarships will be offered. Each scholarship will cover two thirds
of the tuition fees, equivalent to 16,000.00 EUR. Application should be submitted till May 31,
2014.
Chung-Liversidge Scholarships for African Students
Scholarships for African students are available for pursuing masters degree at University of
Sheffield in UK. The Engineering scholarships are for one year only, regardless of the length of
your programme. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and personal
statement. The application deadline is 27th June 2014.
