A quote by Winston Churchill says it all: “[We] have nothing to offer but…toil, [sweat and tears].” This is especially true right now. For Athens Trophy and Screen Printing, this is the busiesttime of year. Summer is almost here, and that means area schools and associations are looking for end-of-year awards. For these, they come to Misty Radford, co-owner of what is better known as Athens Trophy, to get the job done. They count on Misty and her fellow co-owner/husband, Eddie Radford Jr. They are the “dynamic duo” as they both do anything and everything they can to get an order finished.
Athens Trophy is family owned and operated. It has been business for almost a year in July. The business has gone through several changes and has endured all of them. It has been through two previous owners before Eddie and Misty were handed the torch. Each owner has brought something new to the Trophy Shop. It has changed from A-1 Trophies to A-1 Trophies and Screen Printing to finally what is today: Athens Trophy and Screen Printing.

If you give Misty or Eddie a radio, all the happier they become when they are working. Both of them listen to music religiously while they do their work.
Misty does all the engraving and the putting together of trophies and plaques. She also does medals for most of the area track meets. The different items that are available include but are most definitely not limited to: trophies, plaques, ribbons, medals, and engraving on special “brought-in” items. Misty may sometimes think that she’s “in over her head,” but she knows better. She has help from her husband and theirtwo sons. Christopher, the oldest of her step-sons, helps her with anything that she puts in front of him. His specialty is any computer work. Christopher also will answer the phone when he is there. Jonathan, the youngest, helps clean the shop. He also helps Eddie. The newest addition to the Shop is the business mascot: Tippy. Tippy is a dachshund, better known as a “wienerdog,” who loves people. She greets everyone at the door with open paws. Eddie also does more than just answer the phone and take customers’ orders. He does the artwork for t-shirts, the screen printingpart of the business. Eddie takes his work to heart, and no matter how much he has to do, he gets it done! Eddie has stayed up late many nightsfinishing huge t-shirt orders. He doesn’t just do t-shirts though. He’ll do almostanything that you can wear. These could include polo-style shirts, pocket-tees, “hoodies,” caps, shorts, jerseys, and much more. Do you need some last minute trophies, medals, or ribbons? Did you forget to get someone a gift? You can get all this and more at Athens Trophy and Screen Printing. You can even bring in an item that you want engraved and have it done. Athens Trophy brings a friendly, care-free environment to the customer as they decide on what they want. There are many different ways to have something “get all fancied up”. You, the customer, are the boss. Athens Trophy will try their hardest to get you anything that you would like. They will also beat most anyone else’s prices. Athens Trophy and Screen Printing is located at 510 S. Carroll in Athens, TX. They can be reached by phone at (903) 675-2720. They can also be reached through e-mail at:
