INTRODUCTION
Graphic identity is an external expression of the vision,
core values, personality, and goals of an institution.
The need to establish standards is vital in making
the Bainbridge State College brand represent the
institutions unique characteristics. The process of
branding builds strength through consistency both
in message and performance. Consistency is needed
to ensure that public perception of Bainbridge
State College reflects the personality, mission, and
educational offerings of the college.
Bainbridge State Colleges Visual Identity Guidelines
were developed to provide direction in the use of BSC
colors and symbols in:
All printed and electronic materials, such as
brochures, fliers, presentations, and Web pages
All types and styles of signage
All business items including letterhead, envelopes,
and business cards
These guidelines serve as the foundation for the BSC
brand so that our image and identity are projected
clearly and consistently in the mediums through which
we communicate.
To keep the BSC logo and brand prevalent, no
division, department or other BSC entity may create
its own logo. Exceptions may be allowed for externally
focused units.

LO G O
REGULATION AUTHORITY
All Bainbridge State College identity marks are the
property of the University System of Georgia. Federal
trademark law requires that the use of any trademark
be monitored in order to maintain legal claim to that
mark. Board of Regents policy requires that individual
institutions assume oversight of their own marks. The
rules outlined in this publication are necessary to
protect and oversee those identity marks.
These visual identity rules apply to anyone who might
use a Bainbridge State College identity mark: all
schools, departments, divisions, offices, faculty, staff,
students, alumni groups, local businesses, nonprofit
organizations, printers, and all other outside vendors.
For questions regarding logo usage, contact the College
Relations Department at 229-243-6079.

Basics of Name Use

Consistency is critical to proper identity promotion.
The College should always be known by its proper
name, Bainbridge State College. The full name
Bainbridge State College should appear the first time it
is mentioned in all documents, on the front cover of all
publications, in the opening credits of all videos/films,
and on all official Bainbridge State College websites.
Bainbridge State and BSC are acceptable in second and
subsequent references.

SECONDARY LOGOS
A standard text treatment is allowed in the horizontal
version of the Bainbridge State College logo. Only
schools, departments, divisions or programs may use a
secondary logo.
The secondary logo must be 2.5 inches wide with a one
(1) point line separating the logo with the name of the
division/department. All division/department names
must be scaled to fit in one line within the dimensions
of the logo. The division/department name must be
centered, in all caps, and in the La Gioconda font in
BSC green.
All secondary logos must be approved by the College
Relations Department before being used.

all contexts, yet does not overwhelm the main content

To ensure the best possible visibility and impact,
the logo must always be surrounded by a minimum
clearance zone of .1875 inches. No graphic elements or
text should invade this zone.

When placing the logo on various background colors,

determine which color is best for contrast and visual
