CTR Policy Refresh

Care and Treatment Reviews (CTR) have been developed
as part of NHS Englands commitment to transforming the
services for people with learning disabilities and/ or autism
who display behaviour that challenges, including those
with a mental health condition.
The National Forum has told the NHS that the original
closing date of the 19th September will not allow enough
time for people to think about the policy and give
feedback both regionally and across local networks.
To make sure there is more time they have now extended
the CTR Engagement period to Friday 14th October 2016.
The EasyRead CTR information is here

National Audit Office study: Local support for

people with a learning disability
The Department of Health has committed to improving
services for people with a learning disability and
challenging behaviour in Transforming Care a national
response to Winterbourne View Hospital.
This aims to help people to move out of hospital settings
and be supported in their local communities.
The National Audit Office (NAO) is doing a study to find
out how well the government is making progress in
providing community support for people in hospitals
settings.
They are also looking at what health and social care
support is available to the wider population with a learning
disability, and whether this support is improving outcomes.
It is really important they hear directly from people with a
learning disability, family carers and professionals working
in this field to get a true picture of what progress has been
made, and what still needs to be done.
If you would like to share your experiences of the health
and social care support.
You can send your experiences to
Email
LDstudy@nao.gsi.gov.uk
Please put National Audit Office study: Local support for
people with a learning disability in the subject line of your
email.
