Introduction
Celebrate the International Day of Peace by participating in The Global Search for
Peace, an interactive scavenger hunt, taking place around the world the week of
for everlasting world peace. By uniting voices and causes we can mobilize peace for
a better tomorrow!
The Global Search for Peace includes a list of 30 actions that each participating
individual or group will aim to complete the more actions you complete, the
greater impact youll create!
This activity will require you to explore, engage fellow citizens and promote peace
within your community across all sectors of society, while also advancing the Global
Goals for Sustainable Development.
Ensuring peace in a community or country is often too complex for any one agency
or organization to solve alone; therefore, we are asking you to take action and share
the message that Peace is Possible around the world!
Instructions
1. Participate as an individual or gather a team to take action. Promote The Global
Search for Peace within your community, workplace, school or organization to find
like-minded individuals to join in on the fun! Depending on how many people you
recruit, we suggest dividing into smaller groups (57 people) to create even more
action!
2. If you participate as a team(s), choose a team leader. The team leader will be
responsible for ensuring all action steps are documented and shared online;
however, we encourage everyone to post and share their actions to amplify the
impact!
3. Download The Global Search for Peace Toolkit. This toolkit is necessary when
completing a majority of the scavenger hunts action steps. Almost all of the tools
can be printed on an ink-jet printer and found or gathered from your home. Every
participating individual or team will need their own toolkit. Learn more about the
toolkit on page 7.
4. Review The Global Search for Peace scavenger hunt action steps. Before you
begin, it is suggested that your team selects a few action steps to start with and
agree on a strategy in order to complete as many as possible!
5. Execute as many action steps as possible. Share you actions online by uploading
your individual or teams photos and videos to social media (we suggest Facebook,
Twitter and/or Instagram). Review the instructions on page 5 for suggested
posting requirements. These will ensure your actions are seen globally!
6. Have fun while sharing the message that Peace is Possible and taking action for
the Global Goals for Sustainable Developmentthe building blocks to peace!
