Abraham

(Alaihi As-Salaam)

Abraham was indeed a model, devoutly obedient to God, (and) true in Faith, and he joined not gods
with God: [16:120] He showed his gratitude for the favours of God, who chose him, and guided him
to a Straight Way.[16:121] And We gave him Good in this world, and he will be, in the Hereafter, in
the ranks of the Righteous.[16:122] God did choose Adam and Noah, the family of Abraham, and
the family of 'Imran above all people,-[3:33] Without doubt, among men, the nearest of kin to
Abraham, are those who follow him, as are also this Apostle and those who believe: And God is the
Protector of those who have faith.[3:68]
And (We also saved) Abraham: behold, he said to his people, "Serve God and fear Him: that will be
best for you- If ye understand! [29:16] "For ye do worship idols besides God, and ye invent
falsehood. The things that ye worship besides God have no power to give you sustenance: then
seek ye sustenance from God, serve Him, and be grateful to Him: to Him will be your return. [29:17]
"And if ye reject (the Message), so did generations before you: and the duty of the apostle is only to
preach publicly (and clearly)." [29:18] See they not how God originates creation, then repeats it:
truly that is easy for God.[29:19] Say: "Travel through the earth and see how God did originate
creation; so will God produce a later creation: for God has power over all things.[29:20] "He
punishes whom He pleases, and He grants Mercy to whom He pleases, and towards Him are ye
turned.[29:21] "Not on earth nor in heaven will ye be able (fleeing) to frustrate (his Plan), nor have
ye, besides God, any protector or helper." [29:22] Those who reject the Signs of God and the
Meeting with Him (in the Hereafter),- it is they who shall despair of My Mercy: it is they who will
(suffer) a most grievous Penalty.[29:23] So naught was the answer of (Abraham's) people except
that they said: "Slay him or burn him." But God did save him from the Fire. Verily in this are Signs
for people who believe.[29:24] And he said: "For you, ye have taken (for worship) idols besides
God, out of mutual love and regard between yourselves in this life; but on the Day of Judgment ye
shall disown each other and curse each other: and your abode will be the Fire, and ye shall have
none to help." [29:25] But Lut had faith in Him: He said: "I will leave home for the sake of my Lord:
for He is Exalted in Might, and Wise."[29:26] And We gave (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob, and ordained
among his progeny Prophethood and Revelation, and We granted him his reward in this life; and he
was in the Hereafter (of the company) of the Righteous.[29:27]
We have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent
inspiration to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and
solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms.[4:163] Of some apostles We have already told thee the
story; of others We have not;- and to Moses God spoke direct;-[4:164] And We sent Noah and
Abraham, and established in their line Prophethood and Revelation: and some of them were on
right guidance. But many of them became rebellious transgressors.[57:26] And remember We took
from the prophets their covenant: As (We did) from thee: from Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus
the son of Mary: We took from them a solemn covenant:[33:7] That (God) may question the
(custodians) of Truth concerning the Truth they (were charged with): And He has prepared for the
Unbelievers a grievous Penalty. [33:8] So We have taught thee the inspired (Message), "Follow the
ways of Abraham the True in Faith, and he joined not gods with God."[16:123]
The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah - the which We
have sent by inspiration to thee - and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus:

and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).[37:74] (In the days of old).[37:75] And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity. "Nay. "Surely ye are the ones in the wrong!" [21:64] Then were they confounded with shame: (they said). "Art thou the one that did this with our gods. and (a means of) safety for Abraham!"[21:69] Then they sought a stratagem against him: but We made them the ones that lost most![21:70] But We delivered him and (his nephew) Lut (and directed them) to the land which We have blessed for the nations. that they might turn (and address themselves) to it. "Do ye then worship. I have a plan for your idols . [21:57] So he broke them to pieces. [21:67] They said. "We found our fathers worshipping them."[43:27] Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart.[37:71] But We sent aforetime.[21:58] They said. O Abraham?"[21:62] He said: "Nay. that they may bear witness. to which ye are (so assiduously) devoted?" [21:52] They said. hard is the (way) to which thou callest them. If ye do (anything at all)!"[21:68] We said. [37:76] And made his progeny to endure (on this earth).[37:82] Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham." Thus was he confounded who (in arrogance) rejected faith. that ye should remain steadfast in religion. Jacob. "What are these images." [21:54] They said. (all) but the biggest of them. "Who has done this to our gods? He must indeed be some man of impiety!"[21:59] They said. Nor doth God Give guidance to a people unjust.Namely. to establish regular prayers.-[37:73] Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of God. "Thou knowest full well that these (idols) do not speak!" [21:65] (Abraham) said."[21:60] They said. and upon the things that ye worship besides God! Have ye no sense?". and We are the best to hear prayer.that ye desire? [37:86] "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" [37:87] Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. Said Abraham: "But it is God that causeth the sun to rise from the east: Do thou then cause him to rise from the West.gods other than God. He Who created them (from nothing): and I am a witness to this (Truth).-[37:72] Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not). "Have you brought us the Truth."[21:61] They said.[37:80] For he was one of our believing Servants.[42:13] We bestowed aforetime on Abraham his rectitude of conduct.[37:88] And he said. and to practise regular charity.[21:56] "And by God.[21:71] And We bestowed on him Isaac and.[21:51] Behold! he said to his father and his people. and We sent them inspiration to do good deeds.[37:83] Behold! Abraham said to his father and his people: "I do indeed clear myself of what ye worship:[43:26] "(I worship) only Him Who made me.. among them. or are you one of those who jest?" [21:55] He said. many of the ancients went astray. and they constantly served Us (and Us only).[21:72] And We made them leaders. because God had granted him power? Abraham said: "My Lord is He Who Giveth life and death. and He will certainly guide me." He said: "I give life and death". "We heard a youth talk of them: He is called Abraham. God chooses to Himself those whom He pleases.[37:77] And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times:[37:78] "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!"[37:79] Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. if they can speak intelligently!"[21:63] So they turned to themselves and said.. and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than God.ye and your fathers. and We made righteous men of every one (of them). and well were We acquainted with him. "Burn him and protect your gods. this was done by this is their biggest one! ask them. things that can neither be of any good to you nor do you harm? [21:66] "Fie upon you. "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" [37:89] So they turned away 65 . Noah cried to Us. "Then bring him before the eyes of the people. "Indeed ye have been in manifest error .[2:258] Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path..[37:84] Behold! he said to his father and to his people. (apostles) to admonish them. as an additional gift. [21:73] Hast thou not Turned thy vision to one who disputed with Abraham About his Lord. "O Fire! be thou cool. (a grandson). your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. guiding (men) by Our Command."[21:53] He said. "What is that which ye worship? [37:85] "Is it a falsehood.after ye go away and turn your backs".[37:81] Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. besides God.[37:69] o they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps![37:70] And truly before them.

[37:110] For he was one of our believing Servants. and Lot: and to all We gave favour above the nations: [6:86] (To them) and to their fathers. he said: "This is my Lord. [6:87] This is the guidance of God: He giveth that guidance to whom 66 . he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me. and faced (him)." He said: "Dost thou not then believe?" He said: "Yea! but to satisfy My own undertaking. [37:94] He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? [37:95] "But God has created you and your handwork!"[37:96] They said. degree after degree: for thy Lord is full of wisdom and knowledge. [6:78] "For me. and never shall I give partners to God. Moses. He saw a star: He said: "This is my Lord." He said: "Take four birds. and (some) that obviously do wrong. "Build him a furnace.[37:106] And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: [37:107] And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: [37:108] "Peace and salutation to Abraham!"[37:109] Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. He said: "unless my Lord guide me. (nothing can happen). Tame them to turn to thee. and Jesus and Elias: all in the ranks of the righteous: [6:85] And Isma'il and Elisha. put a portion of them on every hill and call to them: They will come to thee (Flying) with speed. [37:101] Then.from him.[6:75] When the night covered him over. and Aaron: thus do We reward those who do good: [6:84] And Zakariya and John.[37:113] Behold! Abraham said: "My Lord! Show me how Thou givest life to the dead." [6:79] His people disputed with him." [6:74] So also did We show Abraham the power and the laws of the heavens and the earth." [6:76] When he saw the moon rising in splendour. about God. "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?. [37:103] We called out to him "O Abraham! [37:104] "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" ."[6:82] That was the reasoning about Us.a prophet.. this is the greatest (of all). [37:91] "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" [37:92] Then did he turn upon them. [37:90] Then did he turn to their gods and said. Wise." But when the sun set. and progeny and brethren: We chose them. towards Him Who created the heavens and the earth."[2:260] Lo! Abraham said to his father Azar: "Takest thou idols for gods? For I see thee and thy people in manifest error. Joseph. he said: "O my people! I am indeed free from your (guilt) of giving partners to God. for they are on (right) guidance. and among his progeny. [37:93] Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps.one of the Righteous. when He (Himself) hath guided me? I fear not (the beings) ye associate with God: Unless my Lord willeth." But when the moon set. to their own souls. Will ye not (yourselves) be admonished? [6:80] "How should I fear (the beings) ye associate with God. My Lord comprehendeth in His knowledge all things. firmly and truly.[6:81] "It is those who believe and confuse not their beliefs with wrong . they then sought a stratagem against him. when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him. He said: "(Come) ye to dispute with me. Then know that God is Exalted in Power. and we guided them to a straight way. He said: "I love not those that set. Job. I have set my face. We guided Noah." But when it set. but We made them the ones most humiliated! [37:98] He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! [37:99] "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" [37:100] So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. [37:105] For this was obviously a trial. that he might (with understanding) have certitude. and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice). which We gave to Abraham (to use) against his people: We raise whom We will. when ye fear not to give partners to God without any warrant having been given to you? Which of (us) two parties hath more right to security? (tell me) if ye know.. and Jonas. Solomon. [37:112] We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right.. striking (them) with the right hand. [37:111] And We gave him the good news of Isaac ." [6:77] When he saw the sun rising in splendour.thus indeed do We reward those who do right. I shall surely be among those who go astray. and throw him into the blazing fire!"[37:97] (This failing). and departed. David. if God so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" [37:102] So when they had both submitted their wills (to God). [6:83] We gave him Isaac and Jacob: all (three) guided: and before him. he said: "This is my Lord.that are (truly) in security.

except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!" [29:32] Has the story reached thee." [51:30] (Abraham) said: "And what. "Fear not." [26:74] He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping. [26:85] "Forgive my father. for that he is among those astray. "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin. the Fire will be placed in full view. it is He Who cures me. [26:99] "'Now. [26:84] "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss." They said: "Well do we know who is there : we will certainly save him and his following." [29:31] He said: "But there is Lut there. and 'Ad and Thamud. [26:90] "And to those straying in Evil.He pleaseth.. and we remain constantly in attendance on them. [26:86] "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up..[15:51] When they entered his presence and said.[22:42] Those of Abraham and Lut. [26:70] Behold.[51:32] "To bring on. "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge.[26:95] "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: [26:96] "'By God.[26:100] "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). all that they did would be vain for them. or do you good or harm?" [26:73] They said: "Nay. and (lift their hearts) in prayer.. [26:91] "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped. he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" [26:71] They said: "We worship idols. He conceived a fear of them. I hope. not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. They said. [22:43] When Our Messengers came to Abraham with the good news. they said: "We are indeed going to destroy the people of this township: for truly they are (addicted to) crime." [51:25] Then he turned quickly to his household. [26:98] "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. [26:97] "'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds. [87:18] The Books of Abraham and Moses. [26:83] "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations). [26:81] "And who. then.. and said: "Peace!" He said. [26:89] "To the righteous. on them. he said." and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. [87:19] If they treat thy (mission) as false. [51:28] But his wife came forward (laughing) aloud: she smote her forehead and said: "A barren old woman!" [51:29] They said. [26:80] "Who will cause me to die. "Will ye not eat?" [51:27] (When they did not eat). and then to life (again). [87:16] But the Hereafter is better and more enduring. "Peace!" He said. is your errand (now)?" [51:31] They said. we were truly in an error manifest. [51:33] "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds.they and those straying in Evil." [26:72] He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them). [51:26] And placed it before them. If they were to join other gods with Him. and it is He Who guides me. [26:88] "But only he (will prosper) that brings to God a sound heart. "Peace!" (and thought. "We feel afraid of you!" [15:52] They said: "Fear not! We give thee glad tidings of a son 67 . brought out a fatted calf. ye prefer the life of this world. [19:53] Also mention in the Book (the story of) Isma'il: He was (strictly) true to what he promised. We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob. and each one of them We made a prophet. [11:70] And his wife was standing (there).[15:59] "Except his wife. seeing I am an old woman. is your good news?" [15:54] They said: "We give thee glad tidings in truth: be not then in despair!"[15:55] He said: "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord. a prophet. "Peace!" He answered.of the posterity of Adam. The decree of thy Lord hath gone forth: for them there cometh a penalty that cannot be turned back! [11:76] (Also mention in the Book (the story of) Abraham: He was a man of Truth. [19:41] Behold. without doubt. and he was an apostle (and) a prophet. [11:75] O Abraham! Seek not this. [19:51] And we called him from the right side of Mount (Sinai). O Abraham? If thou forbear not. by my prayer to my Lord. he said to his father: "O my father! why worship that which heareth not and seeth not. he felt some mistrust of them. and of those who We carried (in the Ark) with Noah. They said. and my husband here is an old man? That would indeed be a wonderful thing!" [11:72] They said: "Dost thou wonder at God's decree? The grace of God and His blessings on you. and conceived a fear of them. I shall be not unblest. [19:58] Ye People of the Book! Why dispute ye about Abraham... [15:58] "Excepting the adherents of Lut: them we are certainly (charged) to save (from harm)." [19:48] When he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides God. for mystic (converse). [11:69] But when he saw their hands went not towards the (meal). [19:49] And We bestowed of Our Mercy on them.endowed with wisdom. (and) a prophet: [19:56] And We raised him to a lofty station. and can profit thee nothing? I will indeed stone thee: Now get away from me for a good long while!" [19:46] Abraham said: "Peace be on thee: I will pray to my Lord for thy forgiveness: for He is to me Most Gracious. We gave him his brother Aaron. who. [19:55] Also mention in the Book the case of Idris: He was a man of truth (and sincerity). of Jacob. They said: "Fear not: We have been sent against the people of Lut. We have ascertained. and We granted them lofty honour on the tongue of truth. o ye people of the house! for He is indeed worthy of all praise. out of Our Mercy.[19:43] "O my father! serve not Satan: for Satan is a rebel against (God) Most Gracious. when the Law and the Gospel Were not revealed Till after him? Have ye no understanding? [3:65] Ah! Ye are those who fell to disputing (Even) in matters of which ye had some knowledge! but why dispute ye in matters of which ye have no knowledge? It is God Who knows." [15:53] He said: "Do ye give me glad tidings that old age has seized me? Of what. [19:44] "O my father! Say thou: "Nay! (I would rather) the Religion of Abraham the True. Isaac. bowed to His Will (Accepted Islam).[4:125] And who turns away from the religion of Abraham but such as debase their souls with folly? So establish regular Prayer. confirming what is with you. to whom is given the Book.

" When they saw him. for truly thou hast been at fault!" "Tell us" (they said) "The truth and meaning thereof: for we see thou art one that doth good (to all). and birds are eating. "Come out before them.that it was torn at the back. and to Thee do we turn in repentance: to Thee is (our) Final Goal. and he is telling the truth!"
