A paragraph is a group of
sentences all about the same topic.
The first line is indented and is
usually the topic sentence. The next
three sentences are detail sentences.
The last sentence is the closing
sentence and it is very similar to the
topic or opening sentence. A group
of sentences about one topic is
called a paragraph.

Evaluate this paragraph. Does it have everything a good paragraph

needs? Has it earned a 4?

Put an orange dot next to the indentation.

Underline the topic sentence with green.
Underline the three detail sentences with purple.
Underline the closing sentence with orange.
