I. Call to order
Mr. Lester A. Mirabueno called to order the regular meeting of the Grade School
Science Area Teachers at 3:10 PM on July 16, 2015 in Guidance Testing Room.
II. Roll call
Sir MIrabueno conducted a roll call. The following persons were present: [see attached
attendance sheet]
III. Approval of minutes from last meeting
Mr. Rolando Estrera read the minutes from the last meeting. The minutes were
approved as read.
IV. Open issues
The agenda of the coordination meeting was to discuss the following:
a) Teachers Profile
Sir Mirabueno reminded everyone that the Teachers Profile should be submitted
through e-mail as early as possible.
b) Pre-Test
Sir Mirabueno asked about the result of the recently conducted pre-test and he also
reminded everyone that the submission of Item Analysis is until July 21, 2015.
c) OIC Assignment
The notice of the meeting will be returned by the OIC of the month after all of the
Science teachers has signed.
d) Science Experiment
It was discussed during the first coordination meeting last May 21, 2015 that the
submission of Experiment no.1 was scheduled June 3, 2015 but some did not submit
yet. Alongside the discussion is the submission of Experiments 2-4 is scheduled on
July 28, 2015. Sir Mirabueno reminded everyone to make sure that the experiments

must be student-centered. It is also advisable to avoid utilizing fire without assuring
the safety of the pupils.
In addition to this, everyone should be reminded about the scoring of the conclusion.

Sir Mirabueno also added that the Experiments sheets should be pass Quarterly with
the Summary of Scores in Conclusion. This is important since all the data will pass to
Ms. Bautista which will aid her in accomplishing her Action Research for Experiment.
Lastly, everyone should assured that the sample experiment sheet that will pass to
RDAC are the ones that was legibly written.
e) Syllabus and Budget Plan
Sir Mirabueno updates everyone who submitted the syllabus and the budget plan.
The table below shows the record of the submission of syllabus and budget plan.

f) Topic Outline and Instructional Guide Sheet

Sir Mirabueno reminded everyone the topic outline and IGS should be included in the
lesson plan. He also added that the topic outline should be printed in short bond
paper. Only the topics to be discuss for the quarter are included in the topic outline.
Summative Test, Experiment and Performance Task are excluded.

V. New business
a) New Grading System
As of the meeting Sir Mirabueno announced that the teachers may already encode the
raw scores of pupils. The new grading system is already implemented for the
compliance in DepEd Order no. 8 series of 2015 or The Policy Guidelines on
Classroom Assessment for the K-12 Basic Education Program. On the other hand nonDepEd schools are permitted to modify this policy guidelines.

b) Observation
Sir Mirabueno informed everyone that Ms. Dina Abariso will visit the grade school
people more often this academic year. He also added that walk-in observation should
be expected this 2nd Quarter. He welcomed those teachers who wants to have a clinical
observation especially the new one.

c) Inventory in the Science Laboratory

Sir Almadrones informed the area that there are 4 logbooks in the science laboratory.
These are for the borrowed laboratory tools, reservation of the science laboratory,
broken or damaged laboratory tools and the usage of the science laboratory.

d) Minutes of the Meeting

Sir Mirabueno informed everyone that the minutes of the meeting should be saves in
the USB. In addition, minutes of the meeting should be pass on the next coordination
meeting by the OIC.
e) Labelling of Plants
Sir Mirabueno remind the teachers that the scheduled for the labelling of the plants in
the Science Garden should start this 2nd Quarter provided that the format will be

Sir Mirabueno applauded everyone for a job well done in the Nutrition Month Trivia. All
of the shared trivia are informative and interesting.
VI. Adjournment
Mr. Lester Mirabueno adjourned the meeting at 5:30 in the afternoon.
