Rohn: How Do You Attract Opportunity Into Your Life?

Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become.
Jim Rohn (/profile/jim-rohn)

August 30, 2015

Someone once asked me the question, How can I have more opportunities come into my life? It is
a good questionbut I think my answer might have surprised them a bit.
I bypassed the obvious (and necessary) points about hard work, persistence and preparation. They
actually were very hard workers. And they had the great attribute of being seekers, on the outlook.
So what were they missing?

Attractionthe most valuable point.

I always thought opportunities and success were something you went after. Then I found out that I
needed to turn it around. Opportunities and success are not something you go after necessarily but
something you attract by becoming an attractive person. 9
That's why I teach development of skills. If you can develop your skills, keep refining all the parts of
your character (http://www.success.com/article/7-steps-to-shape-great-character) and yourself,
your health, your relationships so that you become an attractive personyou'll attract opportunity.
Opportunity will probably seek you out. Your reputation will probably precede you and someone will
want to do business with you.
All of the possibilities are there by working on the philosophy that success is something you attract.
The key is to continue making yourself a more attractive person by the skills you have, the
disciplines you have (http://www.success.com/article/rohn-4-straightforward-steps-to-success),
the personality you've acquired, the character and reputation you have established, the language
and speech you useall of that refinement makes you more attractive.
Personal development is the never-ending chance to improve not only yourself but also to attract
opportunities and affect others. 3
Unless you change how you are, youll always have what youve got. Read more about why
personal development is so critical to success. (http://www.success.com/article/rohn-whypersonal-development-is-critical-to-success)

I also actively seek them out. I'm constantly looking 'for the pain', a need, and learning on Udemy.
Seeing opportunities is the easy part though. Acting on them is another thing.

My experience and including my friends, we seem to attract people who manipulate and use us.

We teach people how we want to be treated and our energy has such a huge impact on who we
attract into our lives. I am fairly new at running my own business at home and am enjoying the
people I am coming into contact with. I know on a 'bad energy' day it is best to put my head into
some serious Personal Growth and bring back my spark

I'm relatively new on this journey. To many years of frustration have led me to this juncture. What I
have discovered is that I have been following this all my life, but failed to apply it to all of my life.
Success in business, failure at life. My mantra has always been "Integrity" above all. Well it works in
attracting success, but not applying it to every aspect of your life leads to many roller coaster rides
that are avoidable. Build your life first, the business and success will follow.

Success definitely has a lot to do with character. Your reputation will be the thing that will carry you
through the toughest times. In our ever growing digital age, integrity is everything. In my own
business, I am well aware that this also includes personal growth. I strive to improve myself along
with my company, to be conscious of myself and the world around me. For me personally, this

includes enjoying life and having a sense of humor through the process.

This is true...take a look around you at the people who have success...plain everyday people....but
they are sought after because of their personality their reputation, the way they relate to others...

Daniel Jimenez Gradilla;

* It is the value of what you get, not the cost of a book, or a training course, that is important.
* The Bible teaches what Jim Rohn teaches, what Tony Robbins teaches, what Amway teaches,
what Zig Zigler and Dale Carnegie teach and none of them is of the slightest worth, value and use
unless you relate to understand what is being taught and you do what they teach. So find a
mentor who you understand.
* Any training is utterly useless unless it is applied.
