PERI
Milestones of construction technology
1969 Founded by Arthur Schwoerer
PERI T70 - The first girder is produced.
1970 First major contract
Scharnebeck ship lift facility near
Lneburg, Germany. The worlds
biggest twin vertical ship lift connects
the Mittelland Canal and the River Elbe
bridging a height difference of 38 m.
1974 The first subsidiaries, PERI
expands in Europe
The first subsidiaries are founded in
Switzerland and France.
1984 Heading into a new era
PERI USA is the first subsidiary outside
the European continent.

GT 24 wooden lattice girder

As a further development of the T-70
V with its 36 cm height, the new GT
24 wooden lattice girder provides
more flexibility on the construction site
through 12 cm less overall height but
with the same dimensional stability.
1985 Atatrk Dam, Turkey
The mobile SKS single-sided climbing
formwork begins its international
success story with the construction of
the third largest dam in the world.
TRIO Europes leading panel
formwork is launched
The universal wall formwork system is
characterized by having few different

individual components resulting in

faster forming operations. The patent for
the TRIO panel formwork is used for 20
years; immediately after this, imitations
start to appear on the market.
1989 A new milestone in selfclimbing technology
PERI introduces the ACS self-climbing
system. Climbing takes place with
the hydraulic climbing mechanism
without the use of a crane. Welldesigned working platforms protect site
personnel during all weathers.
1991 CAD software
73 modern CAD work stations replace
the drawing boards in Weissenhorn.

1995 Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur,

Malaysia
For construction of the 452 m high
building, the use of the ACS selfclimbing system ensures smooth and
problem-free construction progress.
1998 PERI UP scaffold system
With the development of the PERI
UP scaffold system, PERI begins its
activities in the scaffolding market. The
PERI UP T 72 facade scaffolding with
T-frame and guardrail in advance is safe
and cost-effective.
2000 PERI with a new logo
The horizontal arrow symbolizes the
increasing market presence and the
growing number of satisfied customers.

The vertical arrow stands for the

improvement in quality of all PERI
services.
Production
20,000 linear metres of girders are
produced per day.
2003 Viaduc de Millau, France
The 2.5 km long cable-stayed bridge
is constructed using special steel
formwork, which rose steadily upwards
cycle-by-cycle with the help of the ACS
self-climbing system.
2005 Investment in the future
PERI expands the production area
by 80% and doubles the size of
the logistics and delivery facilities.
Altogether, PERI invests approx.

80 million euros for securing the

Weissenhorn plant.
2007 Sustainability
The biomass power plant at the central
production site in Weissenhorn is a
symbol of combined economic and
ecological sustainability at PERI.
2011 Re-development of the Panama
canal
The new construction of the giant lock
facilities on the Atlantic and Pacific
coasts respectively is the largest single
order in the company's history
2013 Implementation of the Market
Unit organisations
To focus on requirements of overseas
markets

PERI in Weissenhorn. Headquarters, development

and production site since 1969.

PERI
Subsidiaries worldwide

With over 60 subsidiaries, we are present on all continents with locallybased experts. From these international activities with widely differing
requirements of our customers regarding construction methods,
materials and equipment utilization as well as labour costs, we generate
our performance leadership.
This profound knowledge in all areas and all markets is bundled
together in product development processes which then benefit local
users again everywhere. With the aim: rationalization, simplification,
quality, safety. Turning local insights into global knowledge.

Our engineers take into consideration

the total cost of materials and working
hours in every product development
- we call this the performance price.
Result: the greatest possible reduction
in effort and working time.

PERI products are characterized through

their innovative design, intelligent
mechanical features and practical
details manufactured with high quality
standards and thus ideally suited for
dealing with the tough everyday use
on the construction site. Easy handling,
maximum flexibility and, at the same
time, safe application prove convincing
in the long-term.

A clear indicator of this is that we have

always been able to set standards in the
industry with numerous innovations,
and that the vast majority of PERI
systems have firmly established
themselves in the market.

14

PERI Asia
More than just products
The broad range of PERI equipment and systems offer the perfect solution for every requirement.
However, the PERI range of services goes far beyond production and system equipment sales and rental.

Technical solutions

Logistics

Due to our engineers in-depth understanding of the needs

of our customers, they are able to develop the best projectrelated solutions for them. These services include, if required, static calculations as well as assembly plans for special
formwork. Although 90% of the formwork project requirements can be covered using standard equipment from the
broad PERI product range, a special construction is, however, sometimes more cost-effective and it is exactly here
that the engineers apply their expertise with great effect.

PERI has the worlds largest rental equipment pool that

supplies its customers reliably, fast and with a high level
of flexibility. Just in time deliveries and return deliveries
according to the particular construction schedule.

Customer Training

On-site support

Our training programme includes both seminars with

specified content and individualised courses. In doing so,
we support our customers by enabling them to find out
about the latest formwork and scaffolding technologies for
more efficiency, and to be able to pass on this knowledge.

PERI formwork instructors provide an extensive professional on-site briefing. This means that any improper
handling can be avoided and the risk of accidents are
greatly reduced. Using the systems even more efficiently
accelerates the construction progress.

For very large material requirements, the local team

works closely with other logistics locations thus ensuring
an optimal delivery service to the construction sites.

Helping hands for Tacloban

On 7th November typhoon Haiyan
hit the Philippines, killing at least
6069 people. Nearly all structures
in the town of Tacloban suffered at
least partial damage. Many people
were left homeless. Almost 90
percent of the city was destroyed.
Upon hearing about the typhoon
our colleagues were very eager to
help and donated clothes and dry
food as well as the coordination of
the donation to the Philippines.

Children's Cancer Foundation

Founded in 1992, Childrens Cancer
Foundation (CCF) is a non-prot

the quality of life for children with cancer
and their families through enhancing
their emotional, social and medical wellbeing. Over the years, CCF has helped

CCF is solely funded by public and

corporate donations. For every shirt
sold, PERI donated 100% of the gross
proceeds to CCF. The donations raised
will facilitate the continued provision and
improvement of various programmes
and services for CCF's beneciaries and
their families.

This year the charity event supported

the NKF (National Kidney Foundation),
a public funded charitable organisation,
which is the largest dialysis provider
supporting more than 3,200 patients.
Every day, an average of four people
will lose the use of their kidneys in

Singapore. On average an NKF patient

must cope with an annual bill of $20k
for their treament. NKF requires more
than 70 million this year to subsidise
their patients to pay either $50 SGD or
less a month, or nothing at all.
