Interfaith Hospitality Network News! • IHN Sign-Up Concludes Today! – SoJ will be hosting homeless families starting next Sunday afternoon thru October 7th. Volunteer sign up has been great. If you’ve signed up for previous hostings, please sign up again so the team knows which positions are filled. Verify your information on the Volunteer Roster as well. If you have not helped before, stop by the IHN TRIFOLD to see where your talents could fit in. Job descriptions are available. POSITIONS STILL OPEN: See Position Roster To Sign-up. All IHN Volunteers are requested to attend a critical IHN Volunteer Meeting this Thursday from 7-8 p.m. We’ll review changes in the IHN Volunteer Handbook and hear SoJ Facilities Manager, Bob Belk, explain important building procedures. October Outreach Project – SoJ’s Outreach Team is collecting 120 jars of Peanut Butter and Jelly for Harvest of Hope. To share a gift, place your donations in the wagon located next to the café by Sunday, October 21. Monetary donations are also welcomed. Sunday’s Cool Curriculum Team TODAY! – SoJ’s Children's Ministry Team is previewing new curriculum for use during Sunday's Cool time. If you’d like to be a part of this process, join the next meeting after the 2nd service today in the large classroom. Youth Ministry Kick Off SUNDAY! What is Middle & High School Ministry at SoJ and what is planned for this year? Parents and Youth find out at the Kick Off next Sunday from 1 - 3:30 p.m. We’ll start by helping set up for our IHN guests, followed by a potluck cook-out. SoJ will provide hamburgers and hotdogs. Sign up at the Welcome Center to bring a side dish. The afternoon will conclude with a chance to play games, meet the leaders, and get a calendar of events for the year. Hands Full Of Bibles – Each Fall at SoJ it is our custom to provide Bibles to parents of every child / youth at SoJ, 1st grade and up, who do not yet have one. If you would like your son or daughter to receive a Bible later this Fall please sign-up at the Welcome Center soon! First Communion – At SoJ parents decide when their children are ready for communion. A two session class for parents and children will be held this fall. Sign-up at the welcome Center! Paid Nursery Attendant Staff Opening – SoJ is looking to hire a part-time nursery attendant to work Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If you, or someone you know is interested, please contact Pastor Jeff or Nicole Eastwood today. Youth Recycling Project – SoJ’s youth recycle inkjet, laser cartridges, AND cell phones. Please bring your empty cartridges and unused cell phones to the Welcome Center and drop them into the appropriate boxes. Thanks for partnering with us in this fundraiser!

Children’s Choir – This choir for kids in grades 1-5 meets on Wednesdays, 7-8 p.m. New members are always welcome. Joy Singers – This adult choir is for anyone, regardless of experience! They sing occasionally on Sunday mornings to provide special music or added support to the worship team. They will not meet this week but will resume next Wednesdays, 7-8 p.m. in the Worship Center. Joyful Noise – This is the Sunday morning worship team, which prepares new music each week to lead our congregation in worship at 9:00 and 10:45. If interested, see Phil about taking a Musical Gifts Assessment to be a part of this group. Drama Team – SoJ's Drama Team consists of writers and actors who are interested in utilizing their talents in short skits to enhance the worship experience.
