Chapter 1
Introduction:
This study is to create sales and inventory system for Minute Burger. Sales and
Inventory Control is an inventory tracking system that gives you up-to-the-minute
detailed information on each item in your inventory. With the use of the system, the
process will be speed up and generate immediate sales report. Through the use of this
system, the incomes are classified as product sales. The total sales are automatically
computed and sales report is generated. In addition the user can also view the total
sales, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. In this way, by checking the system, it will be
easy to identify the number of available and lessening product and which is need to reorder. In addition, the expiration of the product is also monitored in the system.
Background of the Study:
Minute Burger is an established food franchising company with over 26 years of
expertise in the delivery of first-rate food products and food service operations. Since
1982, we have served millions of our on-of-a-kind, hearty, delicious burgers, in Minute
Burger stores all over the Philippines. With the first franchisees joining the Minute
Burger network in 2003, the burger company has become more accessible to its Filipino
consumers. As of March 2012, they already have 130 franchisees operating more than
350 stores all across the Philippines.

Minute Burger Sta. Maria Branch is still using manual process when it comes in
sales and inventory. We know even small stores have a capability to update and
generate their system, and in the field of business innovation is a great factor for
betterment of the company
The used of automated system nowadays has a great impact in many different
fields, especially in businesses It paved the way to improvement and development of
the business process. One of the most common used automated systems today is sales
and inventory system. Its objective is oriented toward developing a rhythm for keeping
records, selling and inventory monitoring.
Statement of the Problem:
This study focuses about the problem that Minute Burger encounters, generally is
about inability to secure and inefficiently to keep data and records; specifically those are
unorganized keeping of sales records, possibility of losing and tracking stored data and
sales transaction, inefficient maintainable records, inaccurate calculation and time
consuming due to manual process.
Objectives of the Study:
The objectives in general is to develop an efficient computerized sales and
inventory system also to make an organized and secured data through computerized
and database, keeping and accurate computation and to lessen the time consumed.

Significance of the Study:

As a college student ready to face the competitive world, this study will improve
our knowledge in the business and system development aspect. This will enhance our
capability as an Accounting Technology student through system designing and
information gathering.
Scope and Limitation of the Study:
The scope of this system is to provide user efficient working environment and more
output can be generated through this. Specifically, in sales, it involves computation of
the daily sales, weekly, monthly and yearly, it shows inventory transaction of purchase, it
can add new stock products and it secures the storage of records and its maintainability.
The system will not cover the entire enterprise needs. The system generates only
reports, calculate and adding stock and securing the data which could be lost during the
manual report.
Conceptual Framework:
Realizing and applying several inventory system is essential in a business environment
since inventory and resources are associated intimately with each other. For instance,
greater the inventory, the more will be need of resources. Cost control by an efficient
inventory system is a great challenge for the manager, and product units. The inventory
management system are based on professional techniques that have been developed
over the years.
