Canada Express Entry: PNP Schemes

The Express Entry system has been around for more than year and applicants
looking to immigrate to Canada have seen some highs and lows. The last draw
on September 7th 2016 was a welcome change which not only saw a fall in the
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) point score but also an increase in the
numbers of Invitation to Apply (ITAs) received.
Increasing CRS points through language ability exams and in case of married
applicants opting for ECA of spouse and language ability exam is one way, the
other way is opting for Provincial Nominee Programme (PNPs).
August saw a rise in the number of applications being submitted under PNP or
applicants getting invites from provinces. Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British
Colombia being the ones which in the month of August only had some 2000
applicants either apply or received invites to do so.
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is one of the most sought
after provinces under the PNP. SINP allows skilled migrants with experience in an
in-demand occupation to file their application and later they can apply for
Canadian permanent residence. Applicants looking to secure PR status through
SINP do not require a job offer. The SINP currently has some 21 in-demand
occupations listed across a range of industries notably in engineering, trades,
agriculture, health care, and IT. SINP can also be pursued by applicants who are
otherwise ineligible to apply for immigration to Canada under the Express Entry
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is another province which follows
its own point score and applicants who may not be eligible to immigrate to
Canada through Express Entry System may qualify as the requirements are
different. MINP aims to attract candidates with relevant skills as per the local
labour market to work and settle in Manitoba.
British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) also saw a rise of
applicants in the month of August16 where in a wide range of workers,
graduates and entrepreneurs were invited to apply for immigration to Canada.
These applicants had previously filed an Expression of Interest (EOI) to settle in
British Columbia.
Applicants interested to immigrate to Canada should be open to various options
that allows to fast track their application and not stick to Express Entry system
only. Most of the provinces follow their own point system and it is important for
applicants to be prepared for submitting their applications in advance.
