This study aims to investigate the level of knowledge, attitudes and practices of
primary school pupils on three-dimensional of sustainable, which mainly are
environmental sustainable, social sustainable and economic sustainable. The
respondents consisted of 265 primary school pupils from eight primary schools
representing four zones in the Kulai 265 pupils were taken for quantitative and 8
pupils were taken for the qualitative research. The method used was quantitative
(questionnaire survey) and supported by qualitative methods (interviews and content
analysis). The questionnaires are formatted to investigate the level of knowledge
among school. Three dimension in the questionnaire are divided into three parts
related to sustainable.( environmental, social and economy) The results of the survey
found that knowledge about sustainable environment is at a good level compare to
social sustainable and economics sustainable. Meanwhile the Mean score for all three
dimensions of Sustainable Environment is 4.32, the sustainable Economy is 4.23 and
the mean score for Sustainable Social is 4.14. While the level of attitudes and
practices towards sustainable concepts are vary according to different dimensions.
However, overall attitudes and practices of sustainable among students are in a
moderate level. However, the school can be considered to have been given
appropriate disclosure on sustainability.Improving knowledge, attitudes and practices
of sustainability among students requires strong commitment not only from the
teachers but also the parents and the community. At the end of the study a
sustainable model has been developed by researchers. This model displays the three
dimensions of sustainability and three elements of knowledge, attitudes and practices
in regards of uphold the sustainability.
