The Rich Man and Lazarus
 Objective: To be compassionate and follow God's commandments
 Verse: “Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy” (Matthew
5:7)
 Introduction:
 Maryna and I will act out a scene and will ask them questions based on
this scene!
 Outline:
 Wealthy Man  luxurious life
 Lazarus  beggar who lived at his gate and was hungry and hurt
 Fed off of the crumbs from the rich man's food
 They both died…Lazarus went to Abraham and the rich man went to
Hades
 He cried to Abraham and told him to send Lazarus to cool him from the
fires of Hades
 Abraham told him that he cannot because there is a gulf between us so
no one can pass from you to me and from me to you
 Then he told him to send Lazarus to his family to save them but
Abraham told him that many prophets were sent to them and they
never listened so it won't make a difference now
 Conclusion:
 19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy
and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in
heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in
and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew
6:19-21)
 Be merciful!
 Review Questions:
