Notes: - Mounting of knee-brace to special forms see www.neher.de/Winkellaschen

- Please indicate the order sizes specified in the drawings. Please note in case of non-rectangular elements that the order sizes based
on the clear sizes can not be calculated linearly due to the angular displacement.

- Please inquire in case of angles smaller than 30°.

- Please note that the production deviations can be up to 3 mm.

- Also note that there are left (L) and right (R) parts in case of asymmetrical elements.

- If the profile length of a side is greater than 1500 mm we insert a reinforcing bar in case of insect screen elements.
Consider this especially for the diagonal length of the special SL1 form.

- In case of non-rectangular lightwell covers the frame must be absolutely planar. In case of the product groups ELSA and TERRESA
the corner connection has to rest. The elements are impassable by vehicles.

- Other special forms on request.

6. side locking mechanism for SP2

SP

Please note that plastic window frames in particular tend to arch to the inside due to the foaming.
It may happen that a stentering frame without side locking mechanism will not be tight in the
centre. In addition, the profile 10 24 02 may bend to the outside in case of larger stentering frames
(especially in case of special forms) due to the profile geometry.

order size width

The following can be done to avoid that problem:
1. The stentering frame is bent to the inside prior to the installation
2. A side locking mechanism is installed to pull the stentering frame profile towards the window
frame (recommended from 1500 mm).

8. brush seal damping for DT3 (no update available)

DT

Especially if a door closer is used the closing sound of the hinged frame is often considered to be annoying.
The hinged frame from the DT3 series can be equipped with a completely circumferential brush seal damping system.
The magnetic attraction comes from frontal block magnets, which are inserted into the respective profiles and/or the magnet closer.

Note the weight bar in the roller blind trailing edge.
In case of some roller blinds a weight bar made of steel is fitted into the trailing edge that stretches across the entire width. In case the trailing edge
runs down close to the wing of the damped door (or wing of the swing door), it could happen that it will spring open due to the block magnets and
hit the trailing edge. If further lowered the door will jump back.
This may result in scratches both on the trailing edge of the roller blind and the insect screen door.
In order to prevent this we offer the magnet spacer
14 34 20 which is then glued to the respective point
on the trailing edge of the roller blind.

You also have the option to shorten the weight bar
in the trailing edge in the area of the magnets.

Note:
You can check beforehand the position of the weight bar in the trailing edge of the roller blind by using a conventional magnet.

9. door closer with gas pressure cylinder for DT3

DT

All hinged frames for doors of the DT3 series can be equipped with an automatic door closer with gas pressure cylinder.
The door closer can optionally be switched on or off.
The door can easily be unhinged.
In case of double-winged systems only the active wing is equipped with a doors closer. Please indicate with your order if you want the
inactive wing be equipped with a door closer.
without assembly frame
(minimum ordering width 600 mm)

with assembly frame 10 35 21 and 10 35 24
(minimum ordering width 640 mm)

In case of hinged frames without assembly
frame the door closer is housed inside the
tubular profile 10 35 22 (profiles, page 24).
It is installed above the door on the frame
(see sketch).
Please note the changed
installations sizes for this.

with assembly frame 10 35 31
(minimum ordering width 640 mm)

In case of hinged frames with the assembly frames 10 35 21, 10 35 24 and 10 35 31, the door
closer is housed inside the assembly frame profile. You will need no additional space during
the assembly.

1. In case of a suspended roller blind pay attention to the mounting bracket installed on the door.
2. The maximum opening angle is 140°.
3. In combination with a damped double-winged door the wing width must be at least 770 mm (otherwise the
gas pressure cylinder would collide with the magnet on top).
Alternativ: Türschließer mit Drehstabfeder.

Attention closing sound/closing force:
The function of the door closer is based on a gas pressure spring whose closing
force can not be adjusted. That means there is always more force available than
required. However, very strong winds or an increased friction caused by the brush
sealing may affect the function.
Please note that due to the increased closing force of the gas pressure spring a
closing sound will be clearly audible at the magnet tape of the door.
We therefore recommend the additional option „brush seal damping“
(special solutions, page 8) for hinged frames with door closer.

11. reducing and increasing the closing force for the swing door DT5

DT

The swing door can be equipped with 3 torsion bar springs of different strength.
medium closing force (standard)
The standard version comes with the torsion bar spring with a medium closing
force. It allows in most cases a pleasant opening and reliable closing of the swing
door (without wind load).
reduced closing force
A torsion bar spring with a reduced closing force can be used especially for smaller
swing doors and for swing doors which are additionally installed sheltered from the
wind. This allows for a very „smooth closing“ of the swing door.
increased closing force
In case of large doors or wind load as well as swing doors with polyester fabric
or a polycarbonate plate it is advisable to use a torsion bar spring with increased
closing force.

The cat flap is inserted into the tear-proof polyester fabric and supported with bar profiles.
The opening of the cat flap is 158 mm in width and 170 mm in height.

dog flap: The dog flap is inserted in the same way whereby the polyester fabric is also inserted above the

transverse bar up to the grip bar.
The opening of the dog flap is 298 mm in width and 350 mm in height.
When installing the cat flap it should be placed towards the grip side. This will prevent the flap from hitting
a door that is not completely opened.
For design reasons the dog flap is always located on the grip side.

In case of standard the double-winged swing door the inactive wing is
locked in place with an upper and lower spring pin. These spring pins
have to be unlocked if the inactive wing is to be opened.

17. magnetic force increase for swing door DT5

By using two additional block magnets the magnetic force for closing (end position) the swing door can be increased (doubled).
This will be necessary if the existing door is warped (swing door must adapt to the door) or if the swing door is exposed to strong wind loads.
In extreme cases an additional sliding lock mechanism should be used (see page 12).

19. self-adhesive magnetic-tape

DT

In case of standard hinged frames for windows and doors (without assembly frame) a V2A steel band that can be magnetised is used on
the closure side.
On request, it is possible to use a self-adhesive magnetic tape instead of the V2A steel band (easy and fast assembly).
However, you have to consider that due to unsuitable surfaces (example: damp, problematic wood lacquer) or extreme outer conditions
(example: dark background + sun side) the self-adhesive magnetic tape might come off.
(no long term guarantee)
Doors provided with a self-adhesive magnetic
tape are fitted with the inner lying grip GI 29.

RF

RT

By using a second closure counterpart it is possible to set an
additional latch point into the guide rail of the RF4/RT4 and
RF5 roller screen series.
This allows for an additional operating height for the fabric
rail in order to prevent them from accidently sliding
upwards when high roller screens are opened.
This latch point can be set to any point of the guide rail.
In winter, when the roller screen is no longer needed, the
additional latch point can just be travelled over with the
fabric rail in order to completely wind up the fabric into
the box.

RF

RT

RF

RT

For an easy operation in case of high roller screens of the RF4/RT4 and RF5 series the fabric rail can
be pulled down with an operating stick via a suspension loop.
After use the operating stick is space-saving hang up on a hook angle which is mounted on the assembly
chamber of the lateral guide rail.

23. pulling cord

As a simple alternative to the operating stick and to easily operate high roller screens the fabric rail can additionally be fitted with a pulling rope.
Attention:
If the fabric rail seals to the bottom the pulling rope can not be moved to the side. There is the risk that in case of wind and opened roller screen the
pulling rope will hit against the window glass.
In this case we recommend the use of an operating stick.

26. safety sticker

RT

ST

Standard sliding systems come without a bar.
There are also no markings available for roller screens for doors due to the
continuous fabric. Thus there is the risk that the user won‘t see the insect
screen, that he will run into the door and possibly damages the fabric.
In order to prevent this a safety sticker can be glued to the fabric at viewing
height.
We recommend to fit each door without bar with at least two stickers
(in case of the Transpatec fabric two stickers each congruently on each
side).

ST

27. handle strip
Instead of the recessed grip the sliding wing can be fitted with a handle strip.
This will provide a number of advantages and additional applications:
- continuous handle operation
The siding system can be operated continuously from top to bottom.
The grip is then much easier to grip and especially suited for children.
- greater installation height thanks to greater stability
The stability of the wing/handle strip combination is considerably greater
than the stability of the wing without handle strip.
In addition, the wing profile is not weakened by the cut-out for the recessed
grip.
If the handle strip is mounted on both sides of the wing profile, significantly
higher installation heights can be realised (see price lists) especially through
the use of a bar.
- reduced installation depth
Since the handle strip does not protrude past the slide wing profile as
opposed to the recessed grip the installation depth is reduced by 1 mm.
- higher grip depth
Thanks to the higher grip depth you can grap the grip even if, for example,
the frame of the double slide rail is mounted on the roller blind guide rail.

32. lightwell protection with quick release for LiSA, RESi and ELSA
For the different applications of LiSA, RESi and ELSA we have developed a universal lightwell protection system with quick release.
In case of LiSA and RESi the grating is secured via an extreme flat special attachment. To prevent white rust it is also powder-coated.
The ELSA is secured directly via the vertical bar below the holding groove for the grating. The tear-off protection is already pre-assembled
and is located in the centre of the tie bar from order size depth.

A slit pin can be used to easily unlock the lightwell protection. Due to an integrated
spring mechanism the hinge opens automatically and can be easily unhinged.
The Neher lightwell protection is also suited for the protection of escape routes.
Extension of the lightwell protection
In case of very high lightwells the lightwell protection with a fixed screw fitting (chain) can be
used to extend the lightwell protection with quick release.

LI

33. lightwell protection with a fixed screw fitting for ELSA
Alternatively, the lightwell cover ELSA can be secured using a fixed screw

A chain is attached to the vertical bar below the holding groove via a screwable chain link. The chain is then additionally screwed inside the lightwell.
As in the case with the lightwell protection with quick release the vertical bar
is reinforced via a tear-off protection.

35. expanded metal for LiSA, ELSA and TERRESA
The standard for lightwell covers is a 0.6 mm strong stainless steel fabric. On request, it is also possible to use an
expanded metal made of anodised aluminium with an inner diamond-shaped mesh size of 3 x 1.5 mm.
The insect screen remains effective for most insects.
Attention: If a lightwell cover is walked on a regular basis the protective layer (so-called white rust), which forms between the

stainless steel fabric and the zinc-plated grating, wears down and has to be redeveloped.

Rust may appear.

In these cases we generally recommend the use of expanded metal
or the use of the ELSA lightwell cover.

M 2:1

When expanded metal is used the lightwell cover LiSA can be travelled on
(car max. 2.5 t).
Note: The lightwell cover has to be also passable by vehicles.

LI

36. glueing with butyl sealing tape LiSA and RESi
In addition to the standard fastening the lightwell covers LiSA and RESi can, on request, also be glued to the base using a butyl tape.

38. V2A fabric with mesh size 10 x 10 mm for RESi
M 1:2

In case of the RESi lightwell cover the ventilation box can be fitted with a V2A fabric with an
inner mesh size of 10 x 10 mm. (The minimum ventilation opening is achieved from a width of
500 mm regardless of the fabric used).

In case of boiler rooms a minimum ventilation opening of 150 cm2 (heater up to 35 KW) is
usually required.
In several German states the inner mesh size may not be smaller than 10 x 10 mm.

LI

39. sealing for RESi
In addition to the advantages of a normal lightwell cover the RESi protects the lightwell from flooding in order to prevent water from entering
the basement. However, a 100% sealing can not be achieved.
Depending on the installation situation the sealing can be optimised.
1. In case of an outer lightwell edge a lip sealing that can be fitted via
several tear-off edges can be used instead of the standard hose
seal.

40. impact protection spacer for RESi
Especially in case of wide RESi lightwell covers the fabric may buckle

protection spacers (width 30 mm each) can be inserted.

LI

41. GFK grating 20 x 20 mm for ELSA

On request, you can use a GFK grating with a mesh size of 20 x 20 mm.

M 1:3

A GFK grating with a mesh size of 38 x 38 mm is the standard for the
lightwell cover ELSA.
This provides a better protection for the overlying V2A fabric against the
deformation by thin objects (example: high heels, stair leg etc.).

LI

42. symmetrical GFK grating for ELSA and TERRESA
The cut from the plate of the GFK grating for ELSA lightwell covers has been
optimised. This makes the GRP grating asymmetrical.
This may be bothersome to some people in case of lightwell covers of the
same size lying next to each other.
On request, the GFK grating can be made symmetrical.

LI

43. ELSA and TERRESA oversizes
In case of a 3-sided support the maximum size of a lightwell cover ELSA is
1100 x 600 mm (maximum sag L/125).
In case of oversize of ELSA the standard profile will be replaced by the statics
profile 10 32 18 (maximum size 2500 x 900 mm) on the side with no support.

Instead of the statics profile it is possible to create an additional support (maximum size
2500 x 900 mm) using the angle profile 10 90 90 (40 x 30 x 4 mm, type raw).
Note: The angle profile is mounted across the entire width.
The test results and tables on the statics of the ELSA can be downloaded at
www.neher.de/ELSA-Statik
In case of a 3-sided support the lightwell cover TERRESA generally comes with a statics
profile. The test results and tables on the statics of the TERRESA can be downloaded at
