PARRAMATTA GET THE JOB DONE

BUT PAY BIG PRICE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Parramatta,NSW | The Parramatta Rams led from go to woe against
the Adelaide Falcons but may ahve paid a big price for the win. Firstly
outstanding Rookie Jeremy Andrews went down holding his shoulder
but the news came good on him as he would return to the game in
the second half. The news was not so good for Tight End with OJ
Howard spraining his ankle and he will miss the next couple of weeks
including the blockbuster rivalry game against the Blues and the first
week of the finals.
Yeah to lose OJ at this stage of the year is not great but
we will deal with that. The important thing was that we got over over
a good, well coached team in Adelaide today and are in a good
position to get a home play off Kurt Sorenson told reporters after
the game. Jeremy went down but there was no structural damage.
We kept him out for a while to monitor the injury but he is ok which is
good. This news was very good as Ian Lasscock and Michael Azar
did not set the world on fire when they stepped in to replace
Andrews.
Despite having to rest Andrews the rams still dominated
the run game. They also held Adelaide in check allowing just 46
yards on the ground and most of those thanks to Quarterback
Scrambles by Luke Sultana. Sultana was starting for just his second
time and the pressure began to tell. After the Rams took the lead via
a field goal Sultana was flushed out of the pocket and his pass
intended for John Oake was intercepted by Jared Mbye. Once again
the 2 minutes before the half proved pivotal and it was Howard who
is Mr. Touchdown for the Rams this year who was on hand to take full
advantage. Trent cannon hit him on a swing pass to the left for the
10-0 lead.
Sultana did get going after this and a nice two minute drills
et the Falcons up as time expired for a successful 38 yard field goal.
Ram Kicker Jamil Hopoate added two more field goals to
extend the lead out to 16-3 and when Sultana was picked again it
seemed it was game over. Against the run of play Jamie Jenkinson
got behind the coverage and scored from 29 yards and somehow the
Falcons were less than a score behind.
The Falcons went for the onside kick off and when that
failed it gave the Rams good enough field position to ice the game
with another Hopoate three pointer.
