Impact of Nursing Theory on Healthcare Organization

Nurses play a vital role in endorsing public health. Traditionally, health promotion
focused on disease prevention while at the same time changing the attitude of individuals on
their health. It should be noted that the role of nurses is more complex since they have the
technical know-how and experience of health promotion within the nursing practice.
The roles of nurses include clinical nursingcare practices, follow-up treatment, patient
education and illness prevention as well as consultation. The nurses expertise has improved
the accessibility of cost-efficient health care and enhanced customer experience within the
medicalhealthcare sector. Healthcare promotion by nurses can also result in a majority of
healthcare outcomes that include obedience, value of life, and patients awareness of their
illness and self-management (Rice, 2006).
However, the increased demand for healthcare combined with the rising cost has led to
a desire to understand better how nursing information has an effect on the value of
healthmedical care administered to hospitalized patients. Due to this some initiatives have

been implemented which includinge changes within the nursing staff and models of care
delivery. As a result of such alterationschanges, some challenges that include knowing the
most suitable nurse staffing patterns to keep patients safe, including levels of support for
developing the information registered nurses require to achieve the most valuable models of
care delivery (Rice, 2006).
With the aim of addressing these aspects within the health care sector, researchers have
focused on trying to understand the connection between the staffing levels and the
occurrences of opposing events that include patient falls. Due to such instances nurse staffing
studies have been dogged with conceptual and organizational issues that have limited the
applicability to exercise the legitimacy of their results.
