Why: To have a better understanding of economics.
Blooms Level: Comprehension
Materials: Econ and Me Video Link: http://vimeo.com/9406181 (Opportunity
Cost), notes from previous day.
Before class: Have video link up and ready to play.
Activator: We are going to continue learning about economic choice and
opportunity cost. Review what each means.
Procedure:
1. Have students watch Econ and Me video on Opportunity Cost. (15 minutes)
2. Have students take notes during video on any new information they
hear/see.
3. After video have students complete What is my Opportunity Cost?
worksheet.
a. #1 as a class
b. Students will complete 2-4 independently to turn in.
Summarizer: Have students share their answers for their table with a friend.
Criteria for success: Student will correctly answer 3 out of 4 questions about
opportunity cost.
Today I will explain the idea of economic choice and how it relates to
opportunity cost
So that I can have a better understanding of economics.
I will know Ive got it when Im able to correctly answer 3 out of 4
questions about opportunity cost.

TSWBAT explain the idea of opportunity cost
Why: To have a better understanding of economics.
Blooms Level: Comprehension
Materials: Decision Making Smart Board with student handout.
Before class: Have handout in team folders, have Smart Board up and ready.
Activator: Tell students theyve really showed that they know all about making economic
choices and the opportunity cost, were going to put that knowledge into action.
Procedure:
1. Have team leaders distribute Decision Making handout.
a. Handout will be displayed on SmartBoard for students to follow along.
2. Solve numbers 1 and 2 as a class.

a. Emphasize the importance of checking every single option.


b. DONT just guesswork it out!
3. Have student solve questions 3-4 individually.
4. Have students check and compare answers with a neighbor and discuss.
a. Students will turn in.
Summarizer: Have students talk to a neighbor about good strategies to use when they
come across more difficult questions, like the ones weve just worked.
Criteria for success: Students will correctly answer at least 3 out of 4 questions
correctly on their decision making handout.
Today I will use my knowledge of economic choice and opportunity cost
So that I can have a better understanding of economics.
I will know Ive got it when Im able to correctly answer at least 3 out of 4
questions correctly on my Decision Making Handout.

TSWBAT recall economic vocabulary and facts.
Why: To have a better understanding of economics.
Blooms Level: Knowledge
Materials: Kahoot and Economic Notes Sheet.
Before class: Create Kahoot and it up but minimized. Have notes copied and in
folders.
Activator: Ask students to volunteer some of the different things weve been
talking about in economics. (goods, services, specialization, economic choice,
opportunity cost, human resources, capital resources, natural resources)
Procedure:
1. Have team leaders distribute Economic Notes, have students glue them in
S.S. notebooks.
2. Go over notes and have students fill in blanks during as a review.
3. Place students in teams for a game of Kahoot.
4. Students will work as a team to discuss and make decisions during Kahoot.
5. Class will discuss each question and correct answer before moving onto the
next question.
Summarizer: Have students share 1-2 economic definitions with a friend.
Criteria for success: Student will be able to correctly answer and discuss what
weve been learning about economics.
Today I will review all Ive learned about economics with Economic
Jeopardy.
So that I can have a better understanding of economics.
I will know Ive got it when Im able to correctly answer and discuss

questions about what Ive learned in economics.

Why: To have a better understanding of economics.

Materials: word bank for review, iTest7 Economics Assessment
Before class: Have laptops charged
Activator: Today we will be finding out how much weve learned about
economics.
Procedure:
1. Quickly review a few vocabulary terms.
a. Have students write the word on their white boards that match the
definition Im giving.
i. Have word bank displayed on Smart Board.
2. Assign students laptops to take the Economics Assessment.
a. Students who are not taking assessment may read an AR book until a
computer becomes available.
Summarizer: If time allows go over results of assessment.
Criteria for success: Student will score a 70% or higher on Economic iTest7
Assessment.
Today I will show what Ive learned about economics
So that I can have a better understanding of economics.
I will know Ive got it when Im able to score a 70% or higher on my
Economics Assessment. (iTest7)

Materials: iTest7 results
Before class: Access iTest7 results.
Activator: Today were going to find out how we did on our Economics iTest7!
Review what their goal was for iTest7.
Procedure:
1. Access iTest7 results from the Economics assessment from previous day.
2. Review questions that students scored poorly on.
a. Also review questions that students scored highly on.

Summarizer: Have students discuss with a neighbor why its important they understand
economics.
Criteria for success: Students will understand and analyze their performance on their
Economics assessment.
Today I will analyze and discuss my performance on my Economics iTest7
So that I can have a better understanding of economics.
I will know Ive got it when I can discuss with a neighbor why its important we
understand economics.
