A presentation of his new book

The Destructive Power of Family Wealth,
facilitated by M. Etienne Eichenberger
The 2nd of December 2016, in the Socit de Lecture de Genve,
11 Grand-Rue, 1204 Genve

After a breakfast in the blue room and an introduction by M. Etienne Eichenberger, you are
invited to a short discussion led by M. Marcovici reflecting on his experience of working with
global wealth owners and the private banks, trustees and advisors servicing them . As is developed in his latest book, he will share his views regarding how wealth can easily destroy families
and relationships and how traditional estate planning is simply not enough, particularly given
the challenges wealth owning families will be facing in future.
Philanthropy will be a theme of the morning discussion, with a review of the risks and opportunities associated with philanthropy and how the right approaches can help to avoid wealth
being a destructive force.

M. Philip Marcovici
Philip Marcovici is retired from the practice of law and consults with governments, financial institutions and
global families in relation to tax, wealth management and other matters. Philip is on the boards of a number
of entities in the financial services industry, as well as of family charities and trust protector bodies. An adjunct
faculty member of the Singapore Management University, Philip is actively involved in teaching in the areas of
taxation, wealth management and family governance.
M. Etienne Eicheberger
Etienne Eichenberger is the co-founder of WISE philanthropy advisors, a pioneer company in the philanthropy
advice since its creation in 2004 and a reference in Europe. The companys aim is to accompany individuals,
their family or foundations in the elaboration and the concretization of their philanthropic impact. He studied In
the University of Saint-Gall and is the chairman of the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation.
