3. Prior to FY 2012, the Peace Corps application asked a demographic question that combined race and ethnicity.
While these questions were eventually separated, some currently serving Volunteers completed the old application
in which they identified as "Hispanic or Latino" but were not able to specify a separate race. The results for
"Volunteers by race" show the number of Volunteers who reported "Hispanic or Latino" as their racial
identity/ethnic in this earlier application.
4. The results for "Volunteers by ethnicity" includes applicants who listed "Hispanic or Latino" as their racial/ethnic
identity in the earlier application as well as those who listed "Hispanic or Latino" as their ethnic identity in the
newer application.
