We are grateful to those who give of their time and
care to bring Holy Communion to our parishioners

parish office.

A message from the
CWL President . . .

SASH SUNDAY is a special for day St.
Helen’s Catholic Women’s League. This
weekend we show our presence in the parish by
proudly wearing our blue sashes. Blue is the colour
that symbolizes the Holy Spirit. We hope that when
you, our parish, see us you recognize the Holy Spirit present within us. Enclosed in this week’s bulletin
is a brief survey for the ladies of the parish, who at
present are not members of the CWL. We are interested in hearing your point of view and are counting
on you to help us move forward, to grow and to
evolve. We thank you in advance for taking the time
to complete the survey. Please return it to the parish office or place in next week’s collection basket.
Blessings

An Interlude of Mercy
God’s mercy calls us to repentance. (Wis)
Paul’s prayer for and advice to the Thessalonians (2
Thes)
The story of Zacchaeus, the repentant tax collector.
(Luke)
Determination and persistence are the core themes of
many of the parables and stories that Jesus told. The story
of Zacchaeus is no exception.
He began as an unloved sinner. He worked for the enemy
as a Roman tax collector. He
had become a wealthy man,
perhaps by overtaxing the
poor. Because of his physical
stature, he was always on the outside.
The crowds lining the streets to see Jesus
blocked his view. Zacchaeus was too short to see.
But he was determined and persistent. He found
a tree and climbed it. And Jesus saw him, loved
him and changed his life forever.
- Dc Dick Folger

In Loving Remembrance

Traditionally the month of November is a time when
we remember in prayer all who have died. The
Book of Remembrance is at the altar for the
month of November. You are invited to write in
the names of the deceased loved ones and
friends you wish to have remembered in prayer
by the community during November.
