Location:

My house, Albion Park.

Task:

Sewing the gathered tulle to the pants. The pants are a bigger size, which are
now easily stretched over the mannequin. The tulle has to be hand stitched onto
the pants first, then sewn on the sewing machine.

Skills and knowledge

acquired

Michelle showed me that sewing the tulle upside down will allow the tulle to fall
with a bit of shape and fullness.

(Maximum 100 words)

I safety pinned the tulle in place after it was measured evenly. I hand sewed the
tulle to tack it into place, and then used the sewing machine on a zig zag stitch
to give stretch. If the tulle was stitched with a straight stitch, there would have
been no stretch in the pants.
It was difficult to sew the stitches straight across the pants, as the pants have a
curved shape, and there was minimal room in the sewing machine to align the
tulle. In the end, all 4 rows of tulle aligned well with each other.

I have now finished the tulle component of the project, so I am now able to move
onto weaving the fibre optics into the tulle, and connecting the electronic circuit.
