Pakistan came into being as an independent state on August 14, 1947 or Ramazan 27,
1366 A. H., and became a member of the U.N.O. on September 30, 1947. Its official name is
Islami Jamhuria-e-Pakistan(Islamic Republic of Pakistan). Pakistan means Land of the Pure
originally coined by Ch. Rahmad Ali.
