Interviews with 1,006 adult Ohioans conducted by telephone by ORC

International on September 7-12, 2016. The margin of sampling error for
results based on the total sample is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
The Ohio sample also includes 895 interviews among registered voters (plus
or minus 3.5 percentage points) and 769 interviews among likely voters (plus
or minus 3.5 percentage points).
In Ohio, 606 interviews were conducted among landline respondents and 400
interviews among cell phone respondents.

METHODOLOGY
A total of 1,006 Ohio adults were interviewed by telephone statewide by live interviewers calling both landline and cellphones.
All respondents were asked questions concerning basic demographics, and the entire sample was weighted to reflect statewide
Census figures for gender, race, age, education and region of the state.
This sample includes 606 interviews among landline respondents and 400 interviews among cell phone respondents.
Respondents were asked questions about whether they are registered to vote, their likelihood of voting, past voting behavior, and
interest in the campaign. Based on the answers to those questions, 769 respondents were classified as likely voters. Among those
likely voters, 31% described themselves as Democrats, 32% described themselves as Republicans and 37% described themselves
as independents or members of another party.
The Ohio regions are composed of the following counties: the "Cleveland Area" region is composed of Cuyahoga, Lake and
Lorain counties; the "North" region is composed of Ashtabula, Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Geauga, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Mahoning,
Medina, Ottawa, Portage, Sandusky, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Wayne, Williams, and Wood counties; the "Ohio Valley/West"
region is composed of Adams, Allen, Ashland, Athens, Auglaize, Belmont, Brown, Carroll, Champaign, Clark, Clermont,
Clinton, Columbiana, Coshocton, Crawford, Darke, Fayette, Gallia, Guernsey, Hancock, Hardin, Harrison, Highland, Hocking,
Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Lawrence, Logan, Meigs, Mercer, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Paulding, Perry, Pike,
Putnam, Richland, Ross, Scioto, Seneca, Shelby, Tuscarawas, Van Wert, Vinton, Washington, and Wyandot counties, the
Columbus Area regions composed of Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Knox, Licking, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Pickaway and
Union counties and the Cincinnati/Dayton Area region is composed of Butler, Greene, Hamilton, Miami, Montgomery, Preble
and Warren counties.
Crosstabs on the following pages only include results for subgroups with enough unweighted cases to produce a sampling error of
+/- 8.5 percentage points or less. Some subgroups represent too small a share of the population of Ohio to produce crosstabs with
an acceptable sampling error. Interviews were conducted among these subgroups but results for groups with a sampling error
larger than +/-8.5 percentage points are not displayed.
