Jadavpur University Science Club (JUSC) has taken a big part in achieving fame

for the University. For the past two years (2015-2016), the club has participated
in various tech-fests with their custom-made robots. They have successfully
placed their mark in local college tech-fests, with a special mention to Tech-Fest
organised by Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology, which was a great example
of teamwork for the club members. A team from JUSC participated in Kshitij, a
tech-fest organised by IIT Kharagpur, where our manually controlled bot was
selected for the best mechanical design, and the autonomous bot was qualified
for the final stage. From club, one team was also selected for the State Science
Fair, where JUSC team represented the University. This team successfully
managed the second place in the district level, with an incomplete bot. The state
level competition of this fair was an open tournament, in which this team
achieved the first position among 47 teams, and brought glory to the university.
Special mentions for Biswadip Maity, Founder of the club, Debarghya Dutta,
Judhajit Jana for these successes. Along with making robots for various events,
JUSC also encourages new students to make bots. The social wing of JUSC is
involved in teaching students from classes 6-8, who don’t have the privilege to
get proper tution, books and all.
