You can save from the Save option in the menu.
There are also a number of maps where you intentionally cannot open the menu a

but there are no game overs or anything, so rest easy.

working to open up a general store there.

It's a generally relaxed game,
so enjoy it while taking various detours.
There are no battles or game overs.
It's usually easygoing, but contains some horror-like parts too,
so please exercise caution if you're not good with that.

There was also a "sometimes -like symbols appear in dialogue" bug,
but I couldn't confirm it on my PC, so I wasn't sure of the cause...
For now, I retyped the corresponding dialogues,
so I'm very sorry if it still shows up...
03/04/2015 Version 2.01 released. Erased some reported symbols!
It looks like the ones last time were properly removed too, so I thi
nk it's okay... I think.
12/07/2015 Version 2.02 released. To avoid a reported bugs (triggering a conver
sation with a choice during post-food fadeout),
I took measures to prevent input during the post-food fadeout.
