JOS

He was a quiet, humble, simple man, from the southwest he did come
He worked with hope and dignity, then one day he was gone
He had been a faithful army man, who lived by army time
And in the army that he loved, his efforts came to shine
He came to raise a family, as good men often do
In his simple, human efforts, his intentions were most true
In his dreams and in his struggles, he was faithful as could be
He loved me like his very own, and his goodness let me see
He was the one who cared for me, whose name I came to bear
In good times and in stormy days, his life I came to share
Although we lived in different worlds, to drums of a different beat
Im grateful for the life we shared, that in time we came to meet
When it seemed like time had passed him by, he sought to find a friend
Who would comfort and console him, and bring him joy again
He died one day in Albuquerque, in a simple, quiet sleep
With a monitor strapped to his chest, that his heartbeat came to beep
Hes buried in a simple plot, with a thousand other men
Who served their country honorably, and will never march again
