Mobility for Vigor and Excellence (MOVE UP) Guidelines
1. Program Objectives
1.1 Provide financial support to enable UP undergraduate students to take courses or
undertake sandwich thesis research work in international Higher Education
Institutions (HEIs) specially those where UP has exchange student agreements;
1.2 Produce more world-competent, well-prepared graduates and thereby, provide future
manpower in areas needed by the country
2. Notes for Selection
Applicants have to apply through their respective designated office i.e. either through the
CUs Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs or the CUs Office of
International/Institutional Linkages.
3. Duration of Scholarship
One (1) semester at the host university
(4 months for trimestral schedule/5 or 6 months for semestral schedule):
August to December or January to May
4. Application Requirements and Procedure
Eligibility

UP Undergraduate Students (all levels except freshmen)


Student must also comply with the minimum eligibility requirement set by the
possible host university, e.g., Language Proficiency Level

Requirements

Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format (i.e., using the application
form, OIL MOVE-UP Form #1)

4 sets (1 original and 3 photocopies) of the following documents should be submitted


with the application:
Attachment 1: 1-page curriculum vitae
Attachment 2: Certified transcript of records/true copy of grades
Attachment 3: Certified Cumulative General Weighted Average Computation
Attachment 4: Letter of Acceptance from the Host University
Attachment 5: 2 Letters of References from previous/current professor

Attachment 6: Approved Study plan (list of courses the student will take at the potential
host university approved by the academic adviser)
Attachment 7: Letter of Consent and Waiver from Parent/Guardian (If legal guardian
issued the consent, please attach proof as legal guardian)
Attachment 8: Copy of Form 5
For thesis/sandwich program applicants
Attachment 9: Copy of thesis proposal endorsed by thesis adviser
Attachment 10: Grant chart/workplan for thesis research activities/work
For degree-related training
Attachment 9: Certification of Department Chair or Adviser on the relevance of the shortterm training
5. MOVE UP ACTIVE RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE

* Note that exchange opportunities and forms are also available at the OVPAA/OIL
System Websites. Selection of student exchange is announced each year.

6. Scholarship
Amount
The amount of scholarship will depend on the Socialized Tuition (ST) Bracket
of the student, location of the Host University, and the period or months of
exchange.
