This document provides the general information needed to configure the Rimage Server (the PC
that is physically connected to the Rimage autoloader) and client applications to process orders
on an existing network. The most common networking scenarios are described in this guide.

Introduction Introduction . The system uses a Messaging Server that forwards the orders to the Imaging and Production Servers.Important: This document is intended only for persons with advanced networking experience. The Rimage Messaging System communicates order requests. The source files and the Rimage System Folder must be accessible by the clients and the Rimage Server for the system to work. The Messaging Server runs on the Rimage Server. This document provides the general information needed to configure the Rimage Server (the PC that is physically connected to the Rimage autoloader) and client applications to process orders on an existing network. All client applications and Production and Imaging Servers must have access to the Messaging Server. completion notices and error messages. 110721_H 1 . Other examples have multiple Rimage systems on the same network. Some scenarios change the location of the Rimage System Folder and the location of the client applications. Before you can install Rimage client applications on a Macintosh computer.

The Rimage Server must have a static IP address. navigate: System Preferences > Sharing > and select the Windows Sharing checkbox.Rimage Advanced Setup Guide Macintosh setup requirements Before you begin. • The Macintosh computer name must be 16 characters or less to work with the NetBIOS naming convention. Navigate: Tools > Folder Options > View > Use Simple File Sharing. • If you cannot browse to the Macintosh computer name from a Windows PC. The Macintosh computer must have a static IP address. If the Rimage System Folder is on a Windows computer. you can use a computer name during the installation of the clients. If you connect to a mounted volume using an IP address or browse to the computer name in the Connect to server option. If you use the Connect to option under the Go menu and browse to the computer you are connecting to. Modifying the HOSTS file only works when NetInfo is not used to configure the network settings. you will need to use the root account to modify the HOSTS file.
