Q.                 Now  on  a  different  topic,  I  want  to  talk  to  you  about  rideshare  services,  including  companies  you  may  have  heard  of  like
Uber  and  Lyft.      As  you  may  know,  these  services  allow  riders  to  use  an  app  on  their  smartphone  to  request  car  rides  and
get  picked  up  by  a  driver  who  has  been  thoroughly  screened  and  drives  for  money  either  part-‐time  or  full-‐time.    Currently
ridesharing  services,  like  Uber,  are  allowed  to  operate  in  most  parts  of  the  country  and  in  New  York  City  but  do  not  have
state  authority  to  operate  throughout  New  York  State.

Do  you  think  these  rideshare  services  would  have  a  positive  or  negative  impact  on  commuters  and  other  people  who  need
transportation  options  to  get  around  in  New  York  State?

Q.                There  is  a  currently  discussion  about  allowing  ridesharing  services  like  Uber  to  operate  throughout  New  York  State.    The
proposal  would  create  strict  rules  for  ridesharing  companies  with  standardized  regulations,  including  background  checks
for   drivers   and   required   insurance.     The   goal   is   to   ensure   reliable   and   quality   ridesharing   services   across   the   State   through
clear  and  consistent  rules  so  that  ridesharing  is  regulated  the  same  way  from  county  to  county  and  town  to  town.
Do  you  support  or  oppose  this  ridesharing  proposal?

Q.                        Recently  New  York  State  passed  a  law  that  made  it  more  difficult  for  airbnb,  the  online  home  sharing  marketplace,  to  do
business  in  New  York.      The  State  Legislature  also  failed  to  act  on  a  proposal  to  give  Uber  and  other  ridesharing  services
permission  to  operate  statewide  throughout  New  York.  Currently  these  services  only  operate  in  New  York  City.  Do  you
think  state  government  should  continue  to  restrict  these  new  technology-‐based  consumer  services  or  should  the
