Academic Projects
Optimization studies for treatment of wastewater using SBR technology. (M.Tech project)
Study involved a model of Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) to treat wastewater keeping the
wastewater volume and overall treatment time constant. It also involved variations in the Filling time,
Aeration time, Settling time, Decanting time, Concentration of microbial culture, Organic loading rate,
oxygen supply, and Temperature. Various wastewater parameters were checked before and after
treatment with and without microbial culture and based on results, conclusions were drawn.
Study of micro-diffusers and its application. (Engineering project)
The objectives of the study were to find potential of micro-bubbles as an alternative and cost
effective treatment. Project checked the efficiency (in terms of DO) of various diffuser pipes having 0.1,
0.5, and 1mm aperture size with varying time intervals and also at different pressures, namely 0.5, 0.7
and 1kg/cm2. Importance and applications of the same were discussed.
