By Alexander Mendoza Newsletter Editor th Today is June 18 2010 and we are at the middle of the year still celebrating with our club all of the cruises we have taken since becoming a cruising club. Time waits for no one and it surely doesn’t wait for any particular club of any means. We the membership of Rancho Cucamonga PT Cruiser Cruisin’ Club enjoy the moments we make and remember the past moments that have brought us much joy in whatever we have done in any mentioned cruise. If you’ve had the opportunity of joining us in any one of our monthly cruises you know what I mean when I say we have a good time. Cruisin’ is not for everyone and many folks would prefer do something else other than cruise with a group and that is perfectly understandable with us. However the membership does happen to enjoy traveling to many interesting place, in fact there have been several events we have gone to several times during the past years. Not only have we cruised to near and far places we have also decided to cruise to a member’s home and either had a Bar-b-q, pool party gathering, club city park event, or had a poker run to a members home where we play cards and there are not too many rules in the game. In fact after stressfully trying to teach several people the art of playing Texas Hold-em, I instead casually started playing 5 card poker with two decks of cards, because if we played with one deck of cards there would not be enough cards to go around. That’s why I decided to use two decks. Sometimes you have to make your own set of rules to play in a game due to the fact that some games are time consuming to learn and the game then gets a little boring. So, here at Rancho we play with 2 decks of cards, the bet is raise & call and you only get the max. of 3 cards with all four of the Jokers being wild cards. The game is fast and there is no time for anyone to hold-em, that’s why we named this game “Play Veto” (to exercise the right to reject something, especially a bad hand of cards but only up to three during the game, with all four jokers being wild cards) The game is simple, everyone can play, and the playing cards go around the table very quickly.

June, 2010 Vice President’s Message One of the hardest things I have had to do is learn how to be a Vice President of a car cruising club. I am taking this responsibility seriously. Why you ask? Simply put, I am wearing a big hat and an even bigger pair of shoes that I am not used to and now trying to make them mine. What a job and I love it. It’s like a little girl (age 66) trying on a pair of high heels for the first time and not really sure if they fit right or even if she can walk in them at all. I’ve had this hat on for a few months now and I am still having a great time wearing it. To quote from a very little book entitled Grit and Gumption by Gladiola Montana, “Strength comes from wrestling with our weaknesses”. I would like to thank all the members for their continued support while I wear this big old had and some very high heels.

ANOTHER ONE OF OUR CRUISES TOOK US TO AN ICE CREAM CRUISE AT RICHIE’S DINER, THE RONALD REAGAN MUSEUM IN SIMI VALLEY, AND THE NEXT ONE COMING UP WILL BE TO EL TORITO RESTAURANT WHICH IS THE DINNER CRUISE ON JUNE 27, 2010. THE FOUNDER, PRESDIENT, & VICE-PRESIDENT OF THIS CLUB ASK OF NOTHING BUT RESPECT FROM THE MEMBERSHIP AT ALL TIMES FOR/TOWARDS ALL CLUB MEMBERS. AS WE HAVE SAID ALL ALONG WE TRAVEL WITH A GOOD GROUP AND MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT THIS, WE AS A CRUISIN’ CLUB NEED TO HAVE MEMBERS THAT WILL BEHAVE THEMSELVES AS ADULTS, AND IF SOMEONE SOMEHOW GETS INTO THE CLUB AND ACTS WITH AN UNBECOMING BEHAVIOR THEY WILL BE ASK TO LEAVE THE CLUB. (TO AVOID A THORNY SITUATION SUCH IS THE REASON THIS CLUB HAS BY-LAWS THAT WE/EVERYONE MUST FOLLOW BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER A CRUISE.) I MENTION THIS BECAUSE RECENTLY ONE SUCH PERSON QUIT THE CLUB AFTER HE WAS REPEATED WARNED REGARDING HIS VULGAR CHILDISH BEHAVIOR. IT WAS ABOUT THE 7TH OR 8TH TIME HE HAD BEEN WARNED REGARDING HIS CONDUCT TOWARDS THE CLUB, THE OTHER MEMBERS OF THE CLUB AND RESTAURANT EMPLOYEES ALONG WITH NON-CLUB MEMBERS DURING OUR CRUISE. SO WHEN HE DECIDED TO QUIT DURING A SELF IMPOSED RAMPAGE HIS RESIGNATION WAS READILY ACCEPTED BY ALL. ALEXANDER MENDOZA CLUB FOUNDER (909) 483-8125
