* Diagnostics are used to assess students prior knowledge
before learning a new topic. For this reason, they are not factored
into their overall grade.
* Formatives are classwork, homework and quizzes. We use
formatives to monitor student progress and practice new skills.
Classwork = 20%
Homework = 40%
Quizzes = 40%
* Summatives are tests and projects. Summatives are used to
determine whether or not the skills practices in the formatives
have been mastered.
Unit Tests = 50%
Midterm/Final = 25%
Project = 25%

Assignments:
a. Classwork/Homework: Daily homework will be given and turned
in at the beginning of the following class. Any classwork not
finished during class is to be completed at home and returned to
class the following day.
b. Quizzes: A quiz will be given before each test. All quizzes will be
announced at least one day prior.
c. Test: Tests will be given at the end of each chapter/unit. All tests
will be announced at least two days prior.

Make-Up Policy:
If a student is absent, it is his/her responsibility to find out what
assignments were and notes were missed and to make up that
work promptly. For missed tests/quizzes, please schedule time
with me to take it.

Retakes:
Classwork/Homework: No retakes
Quizzes: Two retakes per nine-weeks. Must be taken within a
week of the original quiz
Tests: One failed test (C, D or F) per nine-weeks. Must complete
test corrections and retake within a week of original test

Online Grades:
Grades are tracked online via Gradebook. You can access
Gradebook through the school or county website. For login
information, please contact the Guidance Office. Grades will be
updated weekly.

Behavior:
Inappropriate behaviors will not be tolerated. Students are
expected to follow all school and county behavior policies, as
well as respect me and their classmates.
1st offence: Verbal Warning
2nd offence: Phone Call Home
3rd offence: Referral & sent to the Deans Office

Accommodations/Modifications:
All required accommodations and/or modifications will be made
for students in accordance to the IEPs, EPs, and 504 plans.
Accommodations/modifications will also be made for ESOL
students. If you have any questions, comments or concerns
regarding your students accommodations/modifications, please
contact me using the contact information included in the Parent
Letter.

Technology
We will be using minimal technology in this class. However,
if/when we do, students are expected to use technology in an
appropriate, ethical and safe manner at school. The
abuse/misuse of technology will not be tolerated. Please review
