Memo

Mission
The purpose of Fullerton Fixit is to be practical and environmentally conscious by creating a
guide to repair an IBM X41 ThinkPad. The team of Fullerton Fixit will collaborate to create this
guide by researching, documenting, and reporting on the repair of the device. The guide will be
published on iFixit a DIY project website that is open to the online community. Justin, the project
manager will be in charge of the equipment necessary for the repair of the device in addition to
making sure that progress/contribution of the team members is adequate. Magaly, the editor will
be in charge of determining the final context of the guide in order to make sure that it is in an
easy and structured format for reading. Lisbeth, the photographer will use a her own camera to
document and record the breakdown as well as repair of the device in a series of steps. Brian,
the researcher will determine how the project moves forward according to what is most
important and lay out a plan of approach for the project.

Expectation
All team members are to be accountable for their full participation in this project. It is expected
that all team members equally collaborate in the process of the project. Each team member will
carry on their assigned responsibilities but will not hesitate to help others if needed. Everyone
plays a great role here, we are all part of a puzzle, therefore everyone is held reliable for their
professionalism, work ethics, and punctuality. In the case that one team member is not able to
deliver their given task, they are responsible for notifying the rest of the group in a timely
manner so that appropriate actions are taken.

Communication
The group will communicate with its members through various means, both face-to-face
meetings and electronic communication, such as email and text messaging. Responses to
electronic communication should be courteous, and received within 24 hours. Group meetings
will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Pollak Library. Any absences from either
a class session or a group meeting should be communicated to all group members ahead of

time. If individual assignments or expectations can not be delivered by the agreed upon time,
then all members of the group must be notified in advance.

Communication will be structured. Each group member will have an opportunity to communicate his or her
feelings and have an opportunity to express possible solutions.
Summarize the points-of-view of all group members
Explore ways to become more productive as a group and determine an agreed upon action plan for resolution

Corrective Action
In the event that corrective action is required, the following steps will be taken:
1. Verbal warning will be issued among group members.
2. A second verbal, and a written warning (copied to the professor) will be issued.
