Dear Parents and Caregivers,
At Saskatoon Public Schools, student safety is our top priority. We work continuously to provide
safe learning environments for all our students. We also place great importance on
communicating openly with our families.
This morning, Rhett Lundgren, a teacher from Walter Murray Collegiate, appeared in provincial
court charged with two counts of arranging to commit a sexual offence against a child and one
count of attempting to access child pornography. Our school division learned of the charges
against Mr. Lundgren after his court appearance today.
Saskatoon Public Schools will cooperate with Saskatoon Police as the investigation continues.
Mr. Lundgren has been instructed to not be on any Saskatoon Public Schools premises.
For all our school and division staff, student safety is paramount. If you have questions,
concerns or feel your child needs support, please do not hesitate to contact Principal Tom
Sargeant or Superintendent of Education Withman Jaigobin.
Sincerely,
Barry MacDougall, Director of Education
Saskatoon Public Schools
Tom Sargeant, Principal
