STANDARD LESSON PLAN FORMAT

I.

Describe the Class: A 10th grade U.S. History class with thirty students of
which one student is hard of hearing and another is visually impaired.

II.

Objective(s): The student will be able to create an informative poster on a


president while learning how to do appropriate research.

III.

Procedures:
1. Get into groups of six
2. Select a president of your choice
3. Use online databases and books in order to get information
4. Begin poster with each member collecting specific data
5. Make sure the poster contains the following six points: early life, first
accomplishments, major setbacks, later life, and impact on history.
6. Be prepared to present to the class

Materials:
1. Poster
2. Markers
3. Books
4. Computer

V.

Grouping Structures: Six-member heterogeneous groups

VI.

Modifications: The group that involves student A, who is hard of hearing will
be sat closer to the front of the classroom in order to hear the presenters better.
The other group who will have Student B, who is visually impaired, will be
able to use a computer with optical character reader.

VII.

Assessment: A fill in the blank worksheet about the presidents will be given to
the audience in order to assess the knowledge gained from the presentations.
