LPIA EXPANDS ITS CULTURAL OFFERINGS

Doongalik is pleased to have been asked to assist with providing additional Bahamian cultural offerings during the
month of December for the benefit of air travelers at the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) arrivals area.
For three hours on Thursdays and Fridays, travelers will be treated to Bahamian musical entertainment organized
by our very own Fred Ferguson, whilst watching the deft hands of straw artisan, Judy Rolle as she skillfully plaits
lengths of native straw! Photographs below courtesy of Rosemary C. Hanna and Doongalik Studiios
So if you are traveling into the U.S. this month, be sure to check out the US Departure showcases at LPIA, and on
your return, keep an eye out for the all display cases along the arrivals corridors, and once you are out of immigration and customs, take a moment to savour the flavor of some sweet Bahamian music and watch Judy do her
magic!! Then, while in Nassau please take the time to visit and patronize our superb ART GALLERIES and our
twice-weekly CREATIVE NASSAU MARKET in Pompey Square — the flyer shown on page 3, beautifully designed by Neko Meicholas, lists them for your convenience!
As is so aptly described on the LPIA showcase decals: THE BAHAMAS IS MORE THAN SUN,SAND & SEA!!

Recent CN Radio guests have included English Professor, Ian Strachan
(top) to talk about his brilliant and provocative stage play ‘Gun Boys
Rhapsody’ as well as the talented St John’s College Physics students
and their teacher Fr. Shazz Turnquest, who are actually building a solar
car for the 2017 Solar Car Challenge in Texas, USA! Please check the
Doongalik website to find out more information about this project, and
how you can donate to their cause!

We would like to
extend warmest
greetings to all of
our friends and
patrons all around
the world for your
support and kind
e n co u ra g e m en t
over the past year,
and we wish you
all the very best
