6- Clothing material
Go through the materials on the left with the students. With a mono-lingual class, you may need to consult a
bilingual dictionary if you do not speak the students' language. With a multi-lingual class, the students look up
unfamiliar words with their own dictionaries.
During the pair work activity, the students may need to use their bilingual dictionaries to look up additional words,
e.g. nylon, polyester, to describe their own clothes. Encourage use of the structures `My shirt is made of cotton'
and `I'm wearing a cotton shirt.' Most material nouns can also be used as adjectives. However, point out that
`woollen' or `woolly' is the adjectival form of `wool'.
