INTRODUCTION TO TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY

CONTENTS:

Introduction Of:
Ginning, Spinning, Weaving and Knitting., Wet Processing (Pretreatments, Dyeing and
Printing ) and Finishing.

Natural Fiber
Definition of textile fibres, classification of fibres, morphological structures, length and
diameter relationship of yarn filaments.
Elementary description of addition and condensation polymerization, and Types of
polymers.
Natural cellulosic fibres: Growth, Morphology, Physical and Chemical properties of
cotton, linen, jute and derivatives of cellulose.
Wool and Hair fibres: Morphology, physical and chemical properties of Mohair,
Cashmere, Llama. Alpaca.Vincuna, Furs, Camel. Setting of wool fibres.
Silk: Morphology, physical and chemical properties and manufacturing processes.
