Aunt Jackies Kieflies

Prep Time Active 45 min, Inactive 2 hrs | Bake Time 18-20 minutes | Makes ~60

1. Mix flour and butter with a pastry blender (or use two butter knives
like a pair of scissors) to cut the butter into the flour. End result
should be pea-sized pieces.
2. Add beaten egg yolks and sour cream.

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 sticks unsalted butter
1/2 cup sour cream
3 egg yolks, beaten (save whites for filling, below)
3 cups ground walnuts
3 egg whites
1 3/4 cups confectioners sugar

3. Knead dough really well and form dough balls the size of a golf ball.
Place in a cake pan, using waxed paper to separate by the dozens.
Refrigerate for at least two hours, until firm.
4. Beat egg whites until firm. Gradually beat in confectioners sugar.
5. Add walnuts and chill.
6. Flour work area. Roll out each dough ball into paper thin circles.
Cut each circle into 8 pie-shaped pieces. Place approx. 1 teaspoon
of filling at the widest part of each piece. Roll each piece into a
crescent shape.
7. Place on a baking sheet, fairly close together.
8. Bake at 350F for 18-20 minutes. Cool completely; then dust with
confectioners sugar.
